The Bachelorette star Gabby Windey has revealed she wasn't totally surprised by Jason Alabaster's revelation that he wasn't ready to get engaged.

Tuesday night's episode of The Bachelorette showed Jason telling Gabby that he wasn't going to be ready to pop the question by the end of the process but he still wanted to date her and continue getting to know her after the show.

However, Gabby said she and Jason "talked in circles" in the Fantasy Suite off-camera that night and couldn't agree on how things would work in the real world.

The couple therefore mutually agreed to split and part ways, but Gabby admitted that she felt led on by Jason considering she had assumed every rose acceptance in previous weeks meant he could definitely see a future with her.

"It was a little bit of a [gut punch], like, 'What?!'" Gabby recalled of Jason's reluctance to get engaged during the latest episode of the "Click Bait with Bachelor Nation" podcast.

"But, you know what? I can't say that I was really surprised, definitely."

The ICU nurse and former cheerleader continued, "I think we hadn't really had the time and space to talk about it. Because up until this point, we had our one-on-one, which was pretty early. [There's] no need to talk about an engagement then. And then time just kind of disappears."

Gabby said she and the 30-year-old investment banker from Santa Monica, CA, never really had "a comfortable space" to sit down and talk about a potential engagement or what their lives would look like together post-The Bachelorette until her week of overnight dates.

"But it was something I would've guessed. If it were to come from someone, it would've been him," Gabby noted.

On The Bachelorette, Gabby gushed about how Jason was sensitive, warm and caring, but she was upset Jason had waited so long to tell her how he felt about a commitment with her.

Gabby acknowledged on more than one occasion how she and Jason are very different people.

"Jason and I are just so different in that he's much more reserved than I am, and he was pretty open about the fact [the journey] was difficult for him," Gabby shared on the podcast.

"And I'm more of an extrovert. I love attention, and it's just kind of, like, the way we connected, we're definitely opposites -- not saying that's a bad thing."

Gabby did have moments, however, when she wondered if she and Jason are too different to blend their lives together and worried if their differences would cause problems down the road.

"But hearing [Jason]'s family reassure me was so nice... I think people watching it back realize how reserved Jason is and we've never seen someone like him on the show before," Gabby noted.

While Gabby is extremely outgoing and extroverted, she acknowledged how she's typically been attracted to more introverted men.

"In my previous dating life, I was attracted to reserved guys," Gabby confirmed.

"You can sit back, relax and have fun, but it's not like a competition of who's entertaining the most. I think it really comes from a place of confidence."

Once Gabby ended her relationship with Jason, she admittedly felt "so stupid" because she thought she really knew Jason. She cried about how the bachelor had been "reckless" with her heart.

Gabby sobbed about how Jason never loved her, and she wondered if she was "too broken" to be loved by anyone.

"It's not just that he didn't want an engagement; he didn't want me," Gabby lamented in a confessional on The Bachelorette. "How do you keep trusting? [Johnny DePhillipo] also doesn't want me. I don't know what it is about me that's so hard to love."

Gabby only has one bachelor remaining heading into The Bachelorette finale next week, Erich Schwer.

Erich has told Gabby that he's in love with her and couldn't imagine leaving the show without her, and Gabby called Erich "the love of my life" and gushed about how safe and secure she felt with him.

But a preview for the finale episode shows Erich questioning whether he's truly ready for an engagement, which results in Gabby breaking down into tears once again.

"I just want to date you. Getting engaged before that happens is not usually how things go," Erich tells Gabby.

"I'm so sick of this," Gabby cries. "What am I supposed to, walk away because he's not ready to propose? Makes me feel that I'm unlovable."

The live finale of The Bachelorette begins Tuesday, September 13 on ABC.
