The Bachelorette host Chris Harrison apparently doesn't believe there's much merit to Peter Weber's ex-girlfriend's allegations that the Hannah Brown bachelor dumped her to go on the show -- and he plans to reveal why when he interviews Peter live during The Bachelorette's season finale next week.

According to Chris, he personally "did some digging" of his own into the allegations against Peter after they surfaced earlier this month.

"Peter is going to have a little explaining to do. I know more about Peter, just because I did some digging. Because some allegations were made in her claims that had to do with us and casting, so I was just curious so I asked around," he told Entertainment Tonight reporter Lauren Zima during an appearance on the Bachelor Party podcast on The Ringer, according to Entertainment Tonight.

Chris reportedly told Lauren -- who has been dating The Bachelorette host for the last year -- he believes the allegations against Peter are significantly different than the "girlfriend back home" allegations fellow finalist Jed Wyatt is facing, and suggested Peter's relationship situation was not entirely as Peter's ex-girlfriend, an Atlanta-based model named Calee Lutes, has presented it.

"I'm less worried and less intrigued about Peter's situation. Because I know some truths that either I'll explain or Peter will explain," said Chris, who will also interview Jed during the two-part live finale, according to ET.

"Peter's ex... has her version... it might be her truth, because that's her perspective of being broken up with is you're hurt and you didn't see this coming. Maybe he did."

Chris suggested Calee's "perspective" on the break-up may be the result things she wasn't aware of at the time.

"I just want to give Peter a chance to talk, because I know some things... and maybe she didn't know. That's the thing too, and if she doesn't know the truth about it, it may have looked crazy to her, or may have seemed crazy," he reportedly said.

According to Chris, the real story is somehow "more funny than anything."

"But I know it's kind of more funny than anything, about him and how he was approached by the show, how he was cast on the show, the timing of it all. So I have facts on that that I'm not worried about at all for Peter," he said, according to ET.

"I'm not too worried about Peter. I will just say there's less of a gray area for me here, as far as Peter is concerned. Jed, I just don't know the situation as well."

Calee came publicly came forward and accused the airline pilot of suddenly and unexpectedly dumping her just before Christmas to go on The Bachelorette in an interview with Entertainment Tonight earlier this month.

"He absolutely betrayed me. He interviewed for a reality dating show while simultaneously planning a future with me," Calee told ET about Peter.

According to Calee, Peter also cheated on her during their relationship.

"I trusted him entirely and he pulled the rug out from under me. Also, if all of this wasn't bad enough, I've had multiple people reach out to me and tell me that he was seeing other women while we were exclusive."

Rumors Peter had broken up with a girlfriend to go on The Bachelorette had circulated for weeks, however Calee had previously declined to publicly come forward.

Calee had claimed to ET that she met California-based Peter on a dating app in June 2018 and they maintained a "very serious" but long-distance relationship for about six months in which Peter said, "I love you," and they met each other's families.

Calee alleged Peter wanted to move in together and spoke about their future and eventually welcoming children, but then he dumped her two days before Christmas.

Calee had said she felt "devastated and completely blindsided" by her breakup with Peter, especially since he supposedly offered no good reason as to why he wanted to end things.

Calee then allegedly became suspicious Peter had broken her heart so he could appear on Hannah's season when she noticed a Bachelorette producer had recently begun following Peter on Instagram and he subsequently deleted every trace of Calee from his page.

Calee had told ET that she didn't find out about Peter's casting on The Bachelorette until March when the rest of the world did.

To make matters worse, Calee also alleged her romance with Peter didn't exactly end in December 2018 when he unexpectedly dumped her.

"We still kept in touch after the breakup, and we were trying to see each other again, up until early March, shortly before he left for filming. When I found out about the show, I texted him and told him that he owed me an explanation, but I never heard a word back," Calee claimed.

"That's the most shocking part of all... I thought he would've at least had enough decency to apologize," Calee added.

"If he showed me even the smallest amount of sympathy for what he did to me, I probably wouldn't have spoken out... He definitely didn't go on the show for the right reasons. I believe he went on it for the chance at fame."

Last week, former The Bachelorette star Rachel Lindsay and former The Bachelor star Nick Viall defended Peter against Calee's allegations.

"Quite honestly, I think it's a lot to do about nothing," Nick said during an appearance on Good Morning America's "Strahan & Sara" show.

"I mean, from what I understand, [Peter] broke up with her. He broke up with her before Christmas. Final casting doesn't happen until January, so at best, all he knew was that it was an option."

Nick added in annoyance, "How long do you have to break up with someone before you can go on the show?"

"I think [Jed] should've taken a page out of Peter's book. Like, this is the way to do it," Rachel added, referencing how Jed allegedly went on The Bachelorette while still dating a woman and intending to resume their relationship after the show.

"Peter did it right -- he broke up with her and then he focused on Hannah, like, why are we upset about that?"
