Ben Higgins apparently wasn't blindsided by The Bachelorette star Kaitlyn Bristowe's decision to send him packing.

Bristowe denied Higgins a rose at the Rose Ceremony during Monday night's episode, which ultimately determined Shawn Booth and Nick Viall as her Final 2 suitors.

"I think I was very, very aware that her relationship with other guys when she sent me home had probably progressed farther, but you still miss Kaitlyn," Higgins, a 26-year-old software salesman from Denver, CO, told ABC News.

Bristowe constantly complimented Higgins for being positive, kind, funny, handsome and the list goes on. However, she decided at the end of the day he wasn't going to be her husband.

"I'll miss that girl. I'll miss her a lot," Higgins said following his ouster.

"I really was not expecting to be going home. It's not easy. It's not really easy to think that next week I won't see her. I have zero doubt that Kaitlyn and I could've had something great. There was not a question in my mind that I was falling in love with her, but it's over now. I was definitely changed by Kaitlyn."

He continued in last night's broadcast, "At the end of the day, I was able to open up and have feelings for somebody again. And that's something that I can't take for granted. I really believe that I'm in love. That's the only thing getting me through this right now. I hope it's all worth it."

Higgins was the last man remaining that was drama-free, and now, Bristowe gets to deal with two guys who hate each other. The rivalry between Booth and Viall is sparking Twitter fans to take sides by posting tweets with "TeamNick" or "TeamShawn" hashtags.
