"15 Years Sober. Thank You For My Sobriety," Zac, 42, wrote via Instagram on Sunday, alongside a video of himself blowing out candles on a donut cake and posing with his loved ones.

"God, grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change," he continued, citing a prayer. "The courage to change the things I can and the wisdom to know the difference. Amen."

Kaitlyn, 41, commented on the post, "You're my hero."

Kaitlyn has been romantically linked to The Bachelorette 16 alum Zac Clark since early January 2024, but the pair has yet to publicly confirm they're an item.

"Now, I'm on this third possible engagement," Kaitlyn teased during a July appearance on Amanda Hirsch's "Not Skinny But Not Fat" podcast, refusing to say Zac's name.

"If I'm going to finally talk about someone out loud after however long, I hope this is the person."

Kaitlyn has been keeping her relationship with Zac under wraps after going through two very public engagements and breakups with The Bachelorette alums Shawn Booth and Jason Tartick.

In January 2014, Zac detailed the extent of his former addiction while speaking to students at Alvernia University in Pennsylvania, according to the Reading Eagle.

Zac apparently once complained of a pain in his side and asked doctors to remove his gallbladder so he could have access to heavy painkillers. He was also thrilled to receive drugs after a brain tumor was removed from his head.

Zac reportedly snorted and smoked OxyContin, shot heroin intravenously, smoked crack, and did "whippets," which is inhaling bursts of nitrous oxide for a short-lived high.

Zac was eventually arrested for possession of crack and driving while intoxicated.

Zac said on The Bachelorette that he hit rock bottom in 2011 when he attempted to cash a forged check from his father's account. Instead of calling the police, the bank teller, Rhonda Jackson, called Zac's father.

Zac said his addiction resulted in "15 years of lying" and culminated with a four-and-a-half month stint at an addiction-recovery facility that helped him turn his life around.

Zac decided to never look back on his bad choices and habits, and in 2017, he co-founded a recovery program with a variety of services called Release Recovery with his friend Justin Gurland to help people reclaim their lives after struggling with addiction.

Zac eventually thanked Rhonda publicly in 2020 for having saved his life.

Zac proposed marriage to Tayshia Adams at the end of her The Bachelorette season, which filmed in August 2020 and aired on ABC in December of that year.

Zac then announced the pair had decided to call it quits and end their engagement in November 2021.
