A preview that aired at the end of The Bachelor's Season 29 premiere on Monday night featured Grant telling the cameras, "I did not know how hard this was going to be... I am so excited to get down on one knee and propose. I'm ready to be with somebody."
"But the problem is that I'm torn between two women," he continues. "I have a ring and I don't know who I'm going to give it to."
Grant proceeds to admit to his father in the clip, "I have to decide, and I only have an hour to do it. Both of them are amazing."
Grant calls his predicament "insane," explaining, "I'm going to have to make this decision on a time clock. I love both of these women, but I'm scared of making the wrong decision."
The preview then shows The Bachelor host Jesse Palmer telling Grant, "Both of the women are on their way here right now, and I really need to know which one to send first. Do you know what you want to do?"
"The truth is, I don't know," Grant concludes.
But Grant suggested to Parade that his anxiety and confusion leading up the Final Rose Ceremony was because he was dreading the idea of hurting his runner-up bachelorette.
"It was hard for me on Night 1 to send somebody home after I got to know them," Grant recalled.
"And it only gets harder throughout the season as it progresses and people's story gets involved. Their family gets involved, and their past gets involved, and you start to care for these ladies more and more."
During an appearance on Good Morning America, Grant said his bachelorettes' willingness to be so genuine, vulnerable and open during The Bachelor process made breaking hearts even more challenging for him, especially since he had been in their position before on Jenn Tran's season of The Bachelorette.

"I think the group of women that were on my season were amazing, and they brought so much to the table," Grant said.
"It's really hard when you have to let somebody down, in a way, and that's something that hurt a little bit."

Grant insisted that he wore his heart on his sleeve and he thinks "that will really resonate with America."
"Hopefully they can understand that," Grant shared.
Jesse, however, recently told Us Weekly that Grant was, in fact, "so conflicted" when choosing between his last two women standing.
Jesse claimed that The Bachelor previews of Grant's ending have not been over-dramatized or edited to mislead viewers.
"It's real," Jesse told the magazine in a recent interview. "And I don't know if you could tell from watching that [preview, but] from my reaction, I was surprised."

"Well, we've got both women," Jesse noted in the clip. "They're here on standby. And of course I have to know which one to send first."
Jesse told Us that his conversation with Grant on that last day of filming was a first for him as host of The Bachelor franchise.
"That was something that I haven't encountered yet as host in the last four years on any of the franchises," Jesse shared.
"Normally, I think, our leads have a little bit more clarity -- a lot more clarity -- heading into the final day. And I really think that's how conflicted Grant really was."
Jesse suggested that the caliber of women in Grant's cast played a big role in the 31-year-old day trader's indecisiveness.
"I've said this all along: the cast of women on Grant's season are remarkable. They are phenomenal," Jesse gushed.
"Every year, for whoever our lead is, making that final decision on that final day is already a difficult decision. But I can appreciate some of why Grant was so conflicted. I'll just say that."

Jesse reiterated how that preview accurately represented what went down before the Final Rose Ceremony.
"But absolutely, without saying or giving away too much, that was authentic and it's real and it's not edited," Jesse confirmed.
Jesse revealed that it got to a point where production had to nudge Grant along in order to keep the cameras rolling.
"It's not something that I want to say or I should say either," Jesse explained.

The Bachelor host pointed out how Grant had to make his mind up, even if he didn't feel completely ready to make a choice.
"He's got to make a decision and we have to have an ending," Jesse noted.
"And I'm sorry I did it and I said it that way and to kind of break that fourth wall, but I had to say it to help him understand."
Jesse concluded, "I know Grant understood, but that's kind of where it went. And that sort of, I think, shows just kind of how real that was."
Grant, a New Jersey native who currently resides in Houston, TX, was shown meeting 25 bachelorettes on the Season 29 premiere that aired Monday, January 27 on ABC.
Grant decided to give his First Impression Rose to Alexe Godin, and he felt a connection with -- and kissed -- several bachelorettes on Night 1 at The Bachelor mansion.
Grant's first Rose Ceremony of the season ended with The Bachelor star eliminating seven women.
