The Bachelor star Chris Soules admits he fell in love with multiple women while filming the show but he found someone he's crazy about and excited to start a future with.

Soules, a 33-year-old farmer and businessman from Arlington, IA, had been engaged to his college sweetheart before appearing on Andi Dorfman's season of The Bachelorette but they split after seven years of dating.

"We fell in love at a young age, and a lot changes," Soules told People in its latest issue.

The fizzled romance then rolled into a three-year relationship that also didn't work out. Due to "slim pickings" in Arlington, Soules ended up trying to find love on reality TV thanks to his sister who had nominated him to be cast on The Bachelorette.

Now that Soules has filmed his The Bachelor edition, he is sharing some intimidate details -- starting with the drama.

"At first, everyone seemed to get along. But the newness wore off, I found out there were some girls who weren't that well-liked in the house," Soules explained.

That shouldn't come as a surprise considering 30 women fought for Soules' attention and heart this time around, but he apparently tried to stay out of the drama the best he could.

"If a woman brought something up, I would use my best judgment and decide whether they were just trying to stir up drama or if they really cared and were trying to help me," he said. "The competitiveness with the girls never stressed me out, but I was concerned about them and their mental state. I know from The Bachelorette that it's hard to get through that with dignity."

SPOILER WARNING: The following section reportedly reveals information about the season's overnight fantasy dates.

According to a source close to the show, things escalated during the round of fantasy-suite dates.

"It was pretty dramatic when Chris took the virgin into the fantasy suite," the source told People.

As the season progressed, a sensitive Soules discovered it was "really hard" for him to eliminate bachelorettes he cared about.

"One, I took it really seriously and tried to make it as real as possible," the Bachelor said. "I started having feelings for multiple women, so sending them home when they weren't even ready or not knowing if I was making the right decision was really hard to deal with."

In fact, his feelings grew into love for more than one woman.

"There were so many great girls. I felt like I could fall in love with a lot of them right away... There were a lot of girls I was really attracted to both physically and on a personality level. I was nervous going in thinking there wouldn't be that many quality women, but there were," Soules explained.

"So I gave 110 percent to each individual relationship... It made the problem really intense. There were some tough goodbyes. I found out that I'm little bit of a crier. But for the most part, I feel really good about how everything went."

While it remains uncertain whether Soules popped the question to his last bachelorette standing, he's thrilled with his final Rose Ceremony decision.

"I'm extremely happy with the outcome... I'm in love -- it's pretty crazy," he revealed.

Soules told the magazine he definitely sees himself "in Iowa, with kids, married."

So how many kids is The Bachelor star hoping to have?

"I'm shooting for four," Soules noted. "Got nothing else to do in a small town, so you might as well just keep having kids."

Although his story had a very happy ending, Soules admitted he's still not trying to put his foot on the gas pedal.

"Being on the show was amazing, but I have to think about what's going to happen after all the cameras go away and it gets real," he told People. "I want a best friend I can laugh with, cry with, get through tough times with. Being alone is really important in moving the relationship forward."

The Bachelor's nineteenth season is set to premiere on Monday, January 5 at 8PM ET/PT.
