Hold your horses! The next star of The Bachelor star has not been chosen yet, according to show host Chris Harrison.

While multiple reports recently claimed The Bachelor producers have already selected Ben Higgins as its Season 20 star, Harrison says the franchise's next leading man is still up for discussion.

"We have, kind of, an embarrassment of riches as far as decisions for the next Bachelor, and who knows! I mean, we have not picked a new Bachelor contrary to popular belief," Harrison told Reality TV World.

It's not even certain whether The Bachelor's upcoming season will star only one person. After all, The Bachelorette just adopted a format in which Kaitlyn Bristowe had to compete against Britt Nilsson for the position.

So what might be a brilliant plan? A Ben H. vs. Ben Z. showdown.

Higgins left The Bachelorette's eleventh season drama-free with the reputation of being a sweet and funny gentleman. On the other hand, Ben Zorn was portrayed as a guy with a huge heart -- a teddy bear, if you will, considering he was also so big and buff.

"Never say never," Harrison said when asked whether they'd repeat the format of having two stars. "Now we have the two Bens."

However, utilizing two Bachelors or Bachelorettes is apparently very challenging when it comes to filming.

"I remember [executive producer] Mike Fleiss called me and brought up the idea of having Britt and Kaitlyn. I just reminded them the difficulties of doing that production-wise, because beyond the television side of what you guys see, two Bachelorettes just means double the work," the host told Reality TV World.

"Those first couple of nights were extremely difficult for production. It was a brutal task to pull that off. But it made sense because so many people wanted both of them."

Harrison continued, "So maybe we will do the two Bens, or we have [Chris "Cupcake" Strandburg] and [Jared Haibon]. I think there's a lot of guys that could come out of this season and be great Bachelors."

But neither of Bristowe's Final 2 suitors, Shawn Booth and Nick Viall, "would really make a good Bachelor," Harrison explained. "I just think we have other candidates from this season that are better suited [for the role]."

The Season 11 finale of The Bachelorette is set to air on Monday, July 27 at 8PM ET/PT on ABC. During the After the Final Rose special that follows, Harrison usually makes the announcement of who will become the next The Bachelor star.
