The best friends became the fourth team eliminated from the around-the-world competition after they arrived at the Race's fifth Pit Stop at Masuwe Private Game Reserve in Zimbabwe in last place.

The Amazing Race broadcast began where last week's episode had left off, with "Engaged Couple and Amazing Race Super Fans" Justin Scheman and Diana Bishop leaving the fourth Pit Stop in first place after host Phil Keoghan instructed them to keep racing.

"Best Friends and Texans" Tanner Kloven and Josh Ahern headed off to the next destination in second place. Before rushing off, they chose to give their extra Express Pass to "Mother and Son" Denise Williams and James Corley because they weren't threatening but they had also helped the guys out in prior legs.

Tanner and Josh also knew the two sets of girls -- Jazmine and Danielle and "Former NFL Cheerleaders" Tiffany Chantell and Krista Debono -- were in the back of the pack, so the guys didn't want to help either pair beat the other and move ahead of everyone else.

Justin and Diana and Tanner and Josh raced to Lookout Cafe where they'd have to search for their next clue.

Meanwhile, other teams were finishing up their Detour task from the previous fourth leg, which required them to stain and polish a wooden giraffe and then wait for it to dry. "Married Couple in Medicine" Cindy Chac and Rick Chac completed the task followed by "Dating Paparazzi Business Partners" Logan Fazio and Chris Gordon, Jazmine and Danielle, and then Tiffany and Krista.

Denise and James arrived at the fourth Pit Stop in third place and decided not to U-Turn anybody. "Dating Co-Workers and News Anchors" Kelsey Gerckens and Joey Buttitta arrived in fourth place, and they were soon followed by Cindy and Rick in fifth, Logan and Chris is sixth, Jazmine and Danielle in seventh place, and finally Krista and Tiffany in eighth place.

No one U-Turned another team except for Tiffany and Krista, who had promised other teams to U-Turn Justin and Diana under the plan that had been devised by Tanner and Josh -- so the girls decided to keep their word even though it was likely Justin and Diana were ahead of them.

All of those teams also quickly learned they must keep racing, so Krista and Tiffany were not eliminated.

On the way to Lookout Cafe, Cindy and Rick got lost. Logan and Chris had been followed them in their cab, so to their own detriment, they also wasted time driving around. Both teams allowed Jazmine and Danielle to jump ahead of them because of the circumstance.

Jazmine and Danielle therefore arrived at Lookout Cafe in fifth place, followed by Tiffany and Krista in sixth, Cindy and Rick in seventh, and finally Logan and Chris in eighth place.

It then became time for one member from each team to complete a Roadblock task.

For the Roadblock, the Racers were required to jump over 200 feet into the Batoka Gorge and then swing out over the Zambezi River. This was the very first challenge ever done on The Amazing Race.

Justin opted to do the Roadblock in first place. He was later joined by Josh, Kelsey, James, Danielle, Tiffany, Cindy, and Chris.

Justin and Diana finished the Roadblock task in first place. They were then followed by Tanner and Josh, Kelsey and Joey, Denise and James, Jazmine and Danielle, Tiffany and Krista, Cindy and Rick, and Logan and Chris.

Chris was kicking himself for tagging behind Cindy and Rick considering the married couple didn't know where they were going. Because of that mistake, they had fallen into last place.

The teams then moved on to the Detour task and could choose one of two possible options: "Crocs" or "Canoes."

"Crocs" required the teams to feed meat to two crocodiles on sticks while submerged underwater in a metal cage.

"Canoes" required the teams to paddle a canoe across the Zambezi river. Once on the other side, one member from each team had to hoist the other into the air to the top of a tree where they'd retrieve their next clue from inside a vulture's nest.

Denise and James Earl used their Express Pass to skip over the "Crocs" task. However, Kelsey and Joey, Jazmine and Danielle, Tiffany and Krista, Cindy and Rick, and Logan and Chris opted to do the adventurous task.

Justin and Diana wanted to paddle the canoe, as did Tanner and Josh.

Justin and Diana finished the Detour task in first place, followed by Tanner and Josh, Denise and James, Kelsey and Joey, Jazmine and Danielle, Tiffany and Krista, Cindy and Rick, and Chris and Logan.

Afterward, the teams were instructed to make their way to The Lion Encounter. Justin and Diana got there first, and they were soon followed by Denise and James, Kelsey and Joey, Tanner and Josh, Tiffany and Krista, Jazmine and Danielle, Cindy and Rick, and Chris and Logan.

At The Lion Encounter, the teams had to follow two lions and a tour guide through the safari in search of a skull that featured their next clue.

Jazmine and Danielle didn't read the clue thoroughly heading into the safari so they didn't realize the clue was going to be waiting for them inside a big skull. They walked the whole path without finding their clue and were extremely frustrated because they had to go back and do it all over again.

Jazmine and Danielle's mistake cost them the Race because Cindy and Rick jumped ahead of them, as did Chris and Logan shortly afterwards.

The teams proceeded to the Pit Stop at Masuwe Private Game Reserve. To make things more difficult, they had to pick up two fruit baskets to take with them to the Pit Stop. Many Racers found it difficult to carry the fruit baskets on their heads so they kept dropping fruit along the way.

Denise and James arrived at the fifth Pit Stop in first place thanks to their Express Pass and won a trip for two to Slovakia.

Justin and Diana stepped on the mat in second place, followed by Tanner and Josh in third place, Kelsey and Joey in fourth place, Tiffany and Krista in fifth, Logan and Chris in sixth, Cindy and Rick in seventh, and finally Jazmine and Danielle in eighth -- and last -- place.
