Debra Danielson was arrested on Saturday afternoon on suspicion of domestic abuse-serious assault charges after allegedly assaulting her 18-year-old daughter Farrah Abraham, Iowa's Daily Nonpareil reported Monday.

Police responded to the home -- where both women reside -- after receiving a domestic disturbance report, according to the Daily Nonpareil, which added Danielson and Abraham were arguing over "childcare issues and other problems."

The alleged incident reportedly began when Danielson threw an MTV shirt at Abraham, however it landed "on or near" Abraham's infant daughter Sophia, causing the child to begin crying.

Abraham then began to yell at Danielson, who allegedly grabbed Abraham by the throat, according to the Daily Nonpareil. Abraham then allegedly pushed Danielson's hand away, leading to Danielson striking Abraham on the right side of her head and mouth.

Officers who responded to the incident observed "multiple cuts" to the right side of Abraham's lips, the Daily Nonpareil reported.

Abraham first appeared on MTV's 16 & Pregnant reality series before being cast for its Teen Mom spinoff, which continues to follow her and three other young moms as they struggle with the challenges of their first year of motherhood.
