Teen Mom 2 star Leah Messer has revealed her four-year-old daughter Aliannah's diagnosis after years of being concerned about her developmental issues.

Messer, 21, shared that Aliannah suffers from a rare form of muscular dystrophy during Tuesday night's fifth-season premiere of Teen Mom 2, Us Weekly reported.

Muscular dystrophy is a degenerative condition which will worsen over time and eventually restrict Aliannah to using a wheelchair. The disorder involves muscle weakness and loss of muscle tissue.

"Eventually, Ali could be in the chair all the time," Messer recently told Us. "But I've never seen her so happy. She chases [twin] Aleeah and doesn't fall down anymore."

Aliannah and her twin Aleeah are both the daughters of Messer's ex-husband Corey Simms.

Messer filed for divorce from Simms in April 2011. She filed the papers less than six months after the couple had tied the knot in an October wedding which aired on MTV in March 2011 during the first-season finale of Teen Mom 2.

The reality TV star moved on with current husband Jeremy Calvert, 23. They got engaged in December 2011 and then Messer unfortunately suffered a miscarriage with his baby in January 2012. The pair wed in April 2012 at the Catlettsburg Wedding Chapel in Ashland, KY, and welcomed Messer's third daughter, Adalynn Faith, in February 2013.
