A post-mortem examination was being conducted on Daniel Wayne Smith, 20, son of former Playboy Playmate Anna Nicole Smith, who died mysteriously in the Bahamas.
"We are waiting the report from the pathologist to help us conclude what the cause of death was," Assistant Commissioner of the Royal Bahamas Police Force Reginald Ferguson said. Preliminary investigations showed no signs of violence or injury that might have caused his death, Ferguson said.
The police have not ruled out drugs and alcohol, People said.
The young man was visiting his mother at the Doctor's Hospital in Nassau where she had given birth to a baby girl three days before.
His mother thought he was asleep in the chair, but she was unable to rouse him. She sounded the alarm, but when doctors arrived, they pronounced the man dead."This is her son who was in her room in the hospital," said Ferguson. "I would imagine that would be pretty traumatic."
