After spending most of the past season playing backstabbing bridesmaid to NBC's revitalized, pregnant Friends, Mark Burnett's reality adventure still managed a first-place finish in the ratings, according to Nielsen Media Research.

But unlike last season, this was no blowout: 'Survivor: Africa's two-hour finale on Thursday averaged 27.3 million viewers, down 9.1 million from last season's Outback wrap-up. At 10 p.m., CBS' 'Survivor: Africa Reunion' lost 30 percent of the finale's lead-in audience and got trounced by NBC's 'ER'.

NBC's 'Friends' nabbed 25.5 million viewers while 'ER' averaged 25.4 million viewers.
