Ryan Lochte will be competing on the upcoming 23rd edition of Dancing with the Stars with pro partner Cheryl Burke.

Ryan is a 32-year-old American competitive swimmer and a 12-time Olympic medalist. He's won six gold medals, three silver and three bronze -- which ranks him second in swimming behind Michael Phelps.

Ryan is trying to make a personal comeback after the Rio scandal in which he lied to authorities about being robbed at gunpoint. He lost major endorsement deals, like from Speedo, and must wait for a 10-month suspension in swimming to be over, which costs him participation in the 2017 National Championship.

Ryan was born on August 3, 1984 in Rochester, NY. Want to learn more about the 6'2" athlete?
