Rising Star advanced seven singers to the quarterfinals round and cut six artists during Sunday night's broadcast of the new ABC reality singing competition.

Rising Star's sixth episode featured the Top 13 contestants performing live in the hopes of receiving a high enough percentage of America's votes to continue on to the next round.

Seven artists first took the stage one by one and sang with the wall up already. America had to vote "yes" or "no" via the Rising Star phone application for whether they'd like to see that person advance.

Joshua Peavy, a 28-year-old from Soperton, GA, took the stage with "How Am I Supposed to Live Without You?" and earned a whopping 85% vote to advance.

Shameia Crawford, a 30-year-old from Atlanta, GA, sang "Next to Me" and received a 76% "yes" vote.

April Lockhart, an 18-year-old from Warren. NJ, sang "Iris" and received a score of 71%.

Maneepat Molloy, a 16-year-old from Los Angeles, CA, performed "Stars" and earned a score of 68%.

Dana Williams, a 25-year-old from Los Angeles, CA, sang "Latch" and racked in a 68% "yes" vote.

Macy Kate performed "Who Knew?" and earned a 60% vote.

Alice J. Lee, a 25-year-old from Chicago, IL, sang "The Story" and ended up with the lowest 40% "yes" vote of the bunch.

The first seven finalists each set a score to beat. Since Alice finished with the lowest percentage of the bunch, she was dubbed the "hot seat" contestant. If one of the remaining six contestants -- who had yet to perform -- received a score higher than 40%, he or she would take Alice's spot and join the group of contestants advancing to the quarterfinals.

The remaining six artists then performed one by one with the wall down. Each singer attempted to beat Alice's low "hot seat" score to raise the wall and move forward in the competition. If the wall raised, the next lowest vote-getter would become the "hot seat" person.

Jesse Kinch, a 20-year-old from Seaford, NY, then took the stage with "Seven Nation Army" and earned a score of 88%, which booted Alice from the competition and also beat the highest score of the night thus far -- which had originally belonged to Joshua.

Megan Tibbits, a 26-year-old from Caro, MI, was up next and performed "Home." She only received a 32% "yes" vote. The wall did not rise and she therefore got sent home.

Lisa Punch, a 21-year-old from Brooklyn, NY, then sang "Girl on Fire" and earned a 59% vote. The wall did not rise and she was therefore eliminated from the competition.

Audrey Kate Geiger, a 24-year-old from New York, NY, performed "The Big Bang" and raised the wall with a 61% vote. Her score kicked Macy Kate off the show.

Austin French, a 20-year-old from Tifton, GA, then took the stage with "If I Ain't Got You." His score of 86% raised the wall, ousting Dana from the running to become the first "Rising Star."

Sonnet Williams, a 34-year-old from Los Angeles, CA, sang "Young and Beautiful" and failed to raise the wall with a 30% "yes" vote. She was automatically eliminated from the competition.

Although six singers failed to advance to Rising Star's quarterfinals, one of them will be saved based upon the West Coast's voting totals. The Top 7 will become a Top 8 as a result.
