The Celebrity Apprentice star Donald Trump fired Terrell Owens during Monday night's two-part episode of the NBC reality competition's seventh season.

Trump fired the NFL player after the newly switched-up Infinity team lost the season's fifth task, which required them to open their own boutique where they'd sell wedding dresses for family, friends and the public. Strictly a fundraising task, the teams could charge whatever they desired for the dresses in attempt to make as much money as possible.

"This loss stings very much. We lost by $2,500, but there's not a whole lot that I can say I could've done differently. I did exactly what [project manager Ian Ziering] asked of me. I did reach out to some of my resources. Some came through -- some didn't. And that's all I can do," Terrell said following his ouster.

Trump explained that the winning project manager would receive all the money raised -- from both teams -- for his or her charity. He then shuffled the teams.

The new Infinity team was comprised of Terrell, Ian, The Real Housewives of Atlanta star Kenya Moore, two-time World Series champion Johnny Damon, author and talk show host Leeza Gibbons, and The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star Brandi Glanville.

The new Vortex team was made up of journalist and talk show host Geraldo Rivera, soap opera and former Leave it to Lamas star Lorenzo Lamas, former Kate Plus 8 star Kate Gosselin, movie star Vivica A. Fox, Dancing with the Stars eighth-season winner and Olympic gold medalist Shawn Johnson, and Deadliest Catch star Sig Hansen.

Ian and Geraldo, who have had a rival going since the beginning of the season, both stepped up to serve as project managers.

Once in the boardroom, Trump revealed the task was an incredible showing. Almost $600,000 was raised in total and only $2,500 separated the two teams.

Trump therefore allowed the project managers to determine whether they'd like to keep their own share of the profits or allow the winner to take all. Geraldo said it would be "irresponsible" to take the whole thing at the hands of a "reckless ego." Ian agreed, so they planned to split the money between their two charities.

Trump then announced that Ian's team had raised $292,547. Geraldo's team raised just a little bit more with $294,780. Trump decided to round up each team's total to $300,000, which Geraldo and Ian both greatly appreciated.

Ian raised the most money on his team by far, so everyone agreed it probably wouldn't be fair to fire him even though he was project manager for the team that lost. Leeza, Kenya and Brandi each raised at least $20,000, so that left Terrell and Johnny with the poorest showings.

Ian therefore took Terrell and Johnny back into the boardroom with him. Terrell ended up raising about $5,000 less than Johnny's $11,000, so Trump thought his best option was to fire Terrell simply based on the fact he brought in the least amount of money in a fundraising task.
