Donald Trump and Martha Stewart's new twin The Apprentice editions won't premiere until this fall, however NBC announced yesterday that it will launch a new nationwide casting tour for the fifth edition of the Donald Trump version of the series beginning this weekend.

Starting Saturday, June 25 in Los Angeles, The Apprentice casting directors will embark on a seventeen city casting tour that will include Trump's attendance at the tour's July 8 Trump Tower stop in New York City.

"If you've ever wanted to compete on The Apprentice, this is your opportunity," stated Trump in the announcement. "I'd like to encourage all age groups to apply including veteran business men and women along with hungry young entrepreneurs," he also added -- a comment that might add some credence to rumors that the business mogul was dissatisfied with quality of the reality franchise's most recent pool of candidates.

According to NBC, prospective candidates "should be able to take risks, bounce back after failing, succeed in a cutthroat environment, go against the tide, remain focused, think creatively, and be a leader."

All applicants must be at least 21 years of age and in excellent mental and physical health. Additionally, as is standard for reality shows due to FCC "equal time" broadcast regulations, applicants can not presently be a candidate for public office and must agree not to become one until six months after the initial broadcast of any episodes in which they might appear.

The Apprentice 5 finalist interviews are scheduled to be conducted in Los Angeles sometime during August or September 2005, with filming scheduled to occur during an up to eight week period in Fall 2006. The Apprentice 5 is expected to air in early 2006.
