After previously declining to discuss the issue, My Life On The D-List star Kathy Griffin has ended weeks of rumors about the fate of her marriage to Matthew Moline by announcing that, despite a reconciliation attempt currently being broadcast on the second season of her Emmy-nominated Bravo reality show, she and Moline recently finalized a divorce filing that she initially filed last fall.

According to Griffin, who made the announcement during a pre-taped hour-long Larry King Live appearance that -- in true D-List fashion -- had originally been scheduled to air on July 4 but was preempted due to North Korea's missile launchings, her marriage ended due to trust issues stemming from Moline allegedly stealing $72,000 from her private bank accounts.

"My ex-husband without my knowledge was sneaking into my wallet when I was asleep in the mornings and taking my ATM cards of my own private accounts and withdrawing money that I didn't know about and that money totaled $72,000," Griffin told CNN host Larry King. "He was doing it systematically over about a year and a half."

Griffin says she only discovered the alleged withdrawals after her bank alerted her business manager to the activity. Once confronted, Moline allegedly admitted to making the withdrawals. "He admitted it and apologized and then I kind of embarked on a whole journey about can we fix this marriage? We went to couple therapy. I really wanted to make it work, and then recently our divorce became final and unfortunately we won't be able to get beyond the trust issue," said Griffin. "He expressed remorse and that's why we still worked on it because, you know, we'd have good periods and bad periods and we would separate and get back together."

"I think when the trust is breached that much then it's a hard thing to get beyond and I'm sorry it didn't work out, for sure. I would have definitely liked it to work out," Griffin later added. Griffin says she does not know why Moline took the money.

When reached by CNN, Moline declined to comment on Griffin's allegations. "Since our divorce, I have not made any public comments about my ex-wife or our marriage. It saddens me that she would choose to make such accusations at this time. I have no intention of engaging in a public debate over private matters," he said in a written statement released to cable news network.

Presumably referring to a late June report that appeared on the website of veteran Hollywood gossip columnist Janet Charlton, Griffin also denied that she and Moline were already permanently separated when My Life On The D-List's second season was filming. "One thing that does bother me is that people have written online and stuff that they didn't think the reality show was real and that the marriage was, you know, part of the show and maybe it wasn't real. In fact, I just read that online today. And the truth of the matter is we were absolutely reconciled for the part of my life where we did the reality show," Griffin told King. "It was all going very well at that time."

In her June 28 report, Charlton had alleged that Moline had already moved out of Griffin's self-described "A-List" home by the time the show's second season had begun filming. "For this season's tapings Matt always arrived early in the morning before the cameras, and pretended to be still living in Kathy's hillside mansion," the report stated.

According to Griffin, a desire to end the rumor mongering was behind her decision to finally talk about her divorce. "I know that people say, oh, what other people say shouldn't bother you, but it actually bothers me that people think he cheated or I cheated or he's gay or I'm gay or all these outrageous things that I read," she told King. "I don't want people to think that what happened on the show wasn't real and I actually care that people know that I took my marriage very seriously."

Although she says she hasn't seen Moline in about two and a half months, Griffin -- who told King that she has not yet started dating again -- claims to not have any hard feelings toward her former husband. "I absolutely wish him the best and I think he'll be OK and I hope he's OK."
