The eight-episode series, "Rob & Big Black," is scheduled to start airing in the fall, MTV said.

"Rob is wired into the MTV audience and this new show will provide a window for fans into his daily life," said Lois Curren, MTV's executive vice president for series development. "Skateboarding is huge with our core (demographic), and we're excited to bring a different side of this unique culture to our viewers."

Among the producers of the new show is Jeff Tremaine of MTV's "Wildboyz" and "Jackass."
