Married at First Sight star Emem Obot has opened up about her shocking engagement to Brandon Williams, which happened only weeks after her split from Ikechi Ojore.

"I'm happy," Emem noted on the March 4 episode of Married at First Sight: Afterparty.

When Afterparty host Keshia Knight Pulliam asked Emem to explain how her relationship with Brandon is different, Emem got a little choked up.

"It feels different this time because Brandon actually wants to be with me. He reassures me, he shows me the way that I want to be loved. He gives me that," Emem gushed.

"He is my support system; he is my rock. I can be vulnerable with him and know it's never going to come back and bite me. It's surreal. It's surreal feeling loved by him."

Emem gushed about how Brandon celebrated her and communicated with her.

But Emem accepted Brandon's marriage proposal before her divorce from Ikechi was even finalized. Emem and Brandon actually got engaged before Emem even filmed Married at First Sight's Season 18 reunion special.

For Brandon's part, he was also going through a divorce at that time.

"I thought that my intention was to take it slow," Emem said with a laugh, "but I know how he makes me feel and I just can't let that go."

Emem said she "never experienced" that type of love and connection in her life before.

"And I knew, that in this moment [of his marriage proposal], I needed to say, 'Yes.' [It was] love at first sight," Emem shared.

Keshia, however, pointed out how Emem barely knew Brandon when they got engaged within one week of dating.

"I don't know him," Emem conceded.

"I don't know him. I only know as much as we've discussed, and we talked about the future, we talked about the present, we talked about the past, we talked about a lot. We barely slept, to be honest."

Emem added, "And I wasn't going to let him go just because of what I had previously gone through."

Emem was looking forward to her second marriage when she filmed Afterparty, and she said her engagement was going to be as long as it had to be -- "until we can get divorced."

Emem elaborated that once she and Brandon could finalize their respective divorces, they'd "soon be married."

While Brandon had met Emem's beloved cousin on the show, Emem revealed that she called her mom and let her know about the engagement over the phone.

"She had all the questions in the world. She just wanted to know if it was the real thing," Emem explained.

"After she met Brandon, she fell in love. She loves him -- loves him!"

Emem had met Brandon, a firefighter and father of two, in the fifth or sixth grade, but they lost contact after having a class together.

While Emem was filming Married at First Sight, she reconnected with Brandon on social media and then he asked her out on a date.

During their first lunch date, Emem opened up to Brandon about how Ikechi had screamed at her and called her derogatory names during their marriage, and Brandon was horrified to hear how Emem had been treated.

Brandon seemed immediately smitten with Emem, and he called their meeting "a dream" come true.

Brandon warned Emem that he tended to fall hard and fast, but she seemed okay with that since she boasted about how he was a tall, buff and kind man.

After Emem introduced Brandon to her cousin and the meet and greet went well, Brandon got down on one knee and asked Emem to marry him inside of a restaurant.

"Yes!" Emem replied, before telling the cameras, "This is crazy! [But] I am not scared, even a little bit. He made it clear that he wants this forever!"

Emem proceeded to pick out an engagement ring from a store with Brandon by her side, and she gushed about how she loved Brandon.

Brandon called Emem "a blessing" and said he wanted to heal all of her wounds, and so he re-proposed marriage with the new ring inside of the jewelry store.

Emem later introduced Brandon to Ikechi during a Married at First Sight cast gathering more than two weeks after "Decision Day."

Ikechi acted like he didn't care, and he joked to the cameras about how Emem's new engagement probably wouldn't last a month.

Emem said on Afterparty that she wished Ikechi the best and felt no ill will towards him.

Emem also regretted wishing him "the worst" and repeatedly slamming him on their "Decision Day" in front of MAFS experts Pastor Calvin Roberson, Dr. Pepper Schwartz and Dr. Pia Holec.

"You can only take so much before you crack, and I honestly took a lot up to that point," Emem claimed.

The only successful couple who starred on Married at First Sight's 18th season was Camille and Thomas. However, Madison and David got together after their marriages to Allen and Michelle, respectively, didn't work out.
