Married at First Sight star Chris Williams has slammed his friend, Pastor Dwight Buckner Jr., and claims he wanted to drop out of Season 12's cast two weeks before filming began because he was still in love with his ex-fiancee Mercedes Myrick.

On last week's episode of Married at First Sight, Chris was shown meeting up with Pastor Dwight and another friend Mikael to reveal his decision to divorce his new wife Paige Banks and reconcile with Mercedes, who was pregnant at the time, in order to fulfill his responsibilities as a father.

Dwight told Chris that he needed to learn commitment and his relationship with his wife should trump whomever Chris had dated or been involved with in the past.

Dwight called Chris's decision-making "selfish" and "embarrassing" both to Paige's family and to Chris' own loved ones, and the pastor pointed out Paige is "a diamond" and "those are rare."

Chris and Dwight's friendship now appears to be over, as Chris has lashed out at the pastor on Facebook and called him "fake" and "a clown."

"I want to be crystal clear. I called you and told you that I may have still been in love with her 2 weeks before the big day and I wanted to drop out, but was unsure due to my legal obligation," Chris wrote, according to a captured screenshot that has been circulating on social media.

"You said 'it's just the devil and this process was God ordained.' You were the first person I called when I found out about the pregnancy, but then you told me that she was lying and not to believe her even though you had never met her."

Chris also called Dwight out for being wrong about Mercedes.

"I knew her and I knew she wouldn't do that so I waited for the confirmation and it was confirmed. What's funny is you and your wife offered to participate in the reconciliation process of Mercedes and I months before the wedding," Chris continued in his post.

"You were never my pastor, you were my friend who filled in last minute to officiate [my wedding to Paige]. You know I wasn't mad because you mentioned a diamond metaphor. I was mad at the hour long conversation that people don't know about where you said some stuff that was disrespectful. You totally switched up on camera."

Chris bluntly told Dwight in his posting, "You know the truth."

"I was upset because what you said during the diamond convo was different from our phone convos and you flipped," Chris said.

As Married at First Sight fans probably recall, Dwight told Chris he shouldn't feel obligated to get back with his ex-fiancee just because she was carrying his child, and Chris copped an attitude and attempted to end the conversation with Dwight and Mikael prematurely.

"I shut down because I didn't want to say something disrespectful, which is what it would have led to. I rather have done that off camera because brothers fight and make up," Chris explained in his Facebook comment.

"After seeing everything, and the deception, knowing you knew the depths of everything beyond what people know or what has been seen is mind boggling! You are fake and a clown and the fact that you are playing into a fake illusion is sad."

Chris' Facebook comments appear to have been a response he posted to a posting Dwight had published on his own Facebook page.

While it's unclear what exact posting Chris appears to have been responding to since the MAFS star has a history of deleting his Facebook postings shortly after posting them, Dwight posted a video clip on March 3 of that heated conversation between the three men that aired on Married at First Sight's twelfth season.

Dwight's other postings over the last week have just been inspirational quotes or lectures that don't seem to have anything to do with Chris.

Dwight captioned the video clip in question, "DIAMONDS ARE RARE CHERISH THEM AT ALL TIMES. [Keeping it] 100. #MARRIEDATFIRTSIGHT #LIFETIME."

In the clip, Dwight expressed disappointment in Chris' decision since he had made a vow in front of God to honor his wife, Paige, and put her before anyone else.

"Point blank: You have currently a diamond, period. Those are rare," Dwight told Chris in the clip. "Let's consider Paige and let's consider her feelings and let's consider everybody that's involved."

Dwight noted Chris' choice to leave Paige would probably hurt many people and cause damage.

"With all due respect, I'm really done with the conversation," Chris snapped, before Dwight called him "selfish."

Chris did, in fact, ask Paige for a divorce on Married at First Sight, but he continued to lead her on by staying in contact with her and allegedly whispering in her ear that he was afraid of falling in love with her.

The latest Married at First Sight episode featured Paige and Mercedes meeting face to face, with Mercedes announcing that she had no intention of taking Chris back.

Despite Chris' confusing and flirtatious behavior, Paige also determined she was going to walk away from her relationship.

Chris was spotted vacationing with Mercedes in Cancun in February, which suggests the former couple did in fact get back together or continue some type of intimate relationship following Chris' stint on Married at First Sight, which began filming in August 2020.
