Married at First Sight star Airris Williams has revealed he was "90 percent" faithful in his only long-term relationship prior to getting matched for matrimony on Season 16.

Airris, a 39-year-old software engineer dubbed "Reformed and Ready for Love" by Lifetime, was matched to wed Jasmine Secrest, a 31-year-old cheerleading coach and beauty queen dubbed "Queen Without a King," on Married at First Sight's currently-airing Nashville season.

On Married at First Sight's Season 16 premiere, Airris' family, once they learned he'd be getting married in two weeks, said he lacked experiences in "traditional relationships" and they couldn't believe he was going from the "extreme" of "playing the field" to suddenly tying the knot.

Airris revealed during the January 4 episode of Married at First Sight: Afterparty that his most serious relationship was six years before he signed up for the extreme marriage experiment.

"It lasted about a year-and-a-half, and it was long distance," Airris shared.

When Afterparty host Keshia Knight Pulliam asked if he had remained faithful to his ex during their relationship, Airris replied, "For like 90 percent of it."

Keshia teased Airris about how that missing 10 percent means he wasn't loyal to his ex-girlfriend.

"Towards the end of a relationship, you kind of know it's over with," Airris explained.

After that romance ended, Airris apparently enjoyed himself and lived up the single life in California.

"Four months before the show, I wasn't even living in Nashville," Airris clarified.

"I was in California. I had been away from Nashville for almost 15 years. When I was in L.A., I felt like it was a singles' town. All of my friends were single and I was just in that singles group."

However, Airris shared how "coming home" to Nashville changed him and made him want to settle down.

"[It was] the timing," Airris noted. "It forced me to be still, if that makes sense. It kind of shifted my mindset. I felt like the timing was right."

Airris learned he had been matched to wed a stranger only one day after he spent the night with another woman, whom he had been dating for about five weeks.

"I'm single until I'm not," he said on Afterparty, adding how he had dumped her in-person and with "dignity and some type of respect."

Airris' Married at First Sight co-star Shaquille Dillon said his previous relationships always ended due to long distance and having to travel and live in different states for his career. At the time, however, making a relationship work wasn't his "priority."

And Mackinley Gilbert shared how he had joined the Married at First Sight cast because he's always wanted to have kids and thought this would be an easy route to marriage after getting brutally dumped by an ex-girlfriend.

Airris said on Married at First Sight's Season 16 premiere how he had made himself emotionally available at the age of 28 but it backfired and a woman "ghosted" him. Airris said the heartbreak led to him being guarded and having walls up for the next decade.

Airris, whose father was murdered, said he longed to have a family of his own one day, and so he hoped to find a woman who would love him and elevate him like never before.

But Airris' family was worried about him going from "playing the field" to being married for the rest of his life. Airris had also never been in a fully committed and traditional relationship.

Even Airris' cousin Fallina begged of him, "Please don't do this."

Meanwhile, Jasmine expressed to the cameras how she'd love to be a wife and mother. In fact, Jasmine ended up with four dogs because she said she bought one every time she was battling "baby fever."

Jasmine hoped to find a committed man, but she admitted she can be stubborn and must travel a lot for work. All of her previous relationships lasted four or five years but none of them would "man up" and propose marriage.

Married at First Sight expert, Pastor Calvin Roberson, said Airris, who is suave and thoughtful, had done a lot of self-healing and Jasmine would be accepting and devoted. Pastor Cal thought the pair would be like-minded and come together to form a long-lasting marriage.

Married at First Sight currently airs on Wednesday nights at 8PM ET/PT on Lifetime.
