Married at First Sight featured David and Madison repeatedly lying to Michelle before finally coming clean about David's sexting and their feelings for each other in a revelation that devastated Allen during the Season 18 episode that aired Tuesday night on Lifetime.

Married at First Sight's eighteenth season stars five Chicago-based couples marrying at first sight, moving in together, and trying to make newlywed life work for eight weeks.

The five couples who tied the knot at first sight are Camille and Thomas, Karla and Juan, Madison and Allen, David and Michelle, and Emem and Ikechi.

If at the end of the eight-week experiment a couple is unhappy, they can choose to split and part ways on "Decision Day."

The Married at First Sight broadcast began nine days before Decision Day at the Couples' Retreat house.

After Madison left the dinner table at the retreat, she said she found all the drama "emotionally draining" and really needed some good vibes and to escape the negativity.

But Michelle broke down into tears because she said it seemed like everyone was being dismissive of her and taking David's side in their fight about the sext he had sent to Michelle that was intended for another woman. Michelle didn't feel her girlfriends were being receptive or sensitive to her feelings.

"Everyone thinks it's my fault that I didn't try and I'm crazy and I'm blowing this out of proportion is what I'm getting everyone thinks," Michelle lamented in a confessional.

But Karla assured Michelle that David was "in the dog house" for her and his actions were "stupid and ridiculous."

Meanwhile, Allen was shown telling David that he didn't think David was "fully in the wrong" in his situation with Michelle. David explained how he just wanted some "tender loving care" and he never received any attention or support from Michelle.

With only eight days to go until Decision Day, Michelle spoke to David alone outside by a fire.

David apologized to Michelle for hurting her, and he said, "That's not who I am. I am a great man who was raised by great people and I was just embarrassed. I also want to apologize as well for kind of deflecting that situation and throwing everything on you that I haven't gotten in the marriage."

David explained how he'd been trying to be patient but then he "f-cked up" and was sorry.

Michelle said it wasn't fair that David was suggesting he had messed up because she wasn't trying.

When Michelle asked David if he thought his sext was her fault, he couldn't say that it wasn't.

"Before this happened, you even admitted, 'Yeah, I do notice her trying more,' and now you've flipped the narrative back to, 'She wasn't trying at all.' So were you lying then or lying now about me trying?" Michelle asked.

"Did I really think you were trying? No," David replied.

"Okay, so now I just want to point out the obvious that you've lied to me a few times," Michelle noted.

David reiterated how he had meant to send that racy text to Tiffany, whom he had been texting for a week-and-a-half up to that point, and he was sticking with that story. David said Michelle could choose to believe him or not, and accept his apology or not.

But Michelle was angry that David had no proof of his conversations with Tiffany. David also claimed he had deleted Tiffany's contact from his phone.

Michelle therefore confided in Emem and Camille how she thought David had meant to send that sexy text message to Madison, who had noticeably walked away from the dinner table when Michelle was venting about David's mistakes.

Michelle pointed out how the names "Madison" and "Michelle" would be close to each other in David's phone and that David had been hanging out with Madison, Allen and Karla on the night he had sent the mystery text to Michelle.

Michelle was also aware that blondes are David's type and he and Madison had been going to the gym pretty frequently together in their apartment complex.

Michelle said she could no longer believe David or take him at his word because he "lied to my face all the time," and so the women thought Michelle should confront Madison.

While Michelle talked to her girls, Madison and Allen were off racing Go-Karts Allen shared with his wife how Decision Day was on his mind and he was worried because they hadn't established any physical intimacy yet.

Allen wanted to know what their life could look like together after the show, and so he asked Madison if there was any part of her willing to stay in the marriage and take a chance on him with her eyes closed.

"A little bit, yes... [but] there is a lot going on, and the closer we get to this day, the more stressful it is to make this decision," Madison explained, adding how she was "in a Switzerland zone" at the time and was just focusing on having fun with Allen.

But Allen acknowledged they were running out of time and it was "crunch time." He suggested that he wanted to stay in the marriage as long as Madison would lean into him and let their relationship progress.

After Karla and Juan were shown bonding and having a great time at a pottery class, during which Karla had made many jokes and sexual innuendos to try to heat things up, Madison and David were shown giggling in the kitchen and taking a shot together.

For Thomas and Camille's part, Thomas asked his wife if she was ready to be a parent while they were relaxing in a hot tub, and Camille said that she was probably two years from that point because she wanted to enjoy her marriage, get out of debt, and feel secure in her career before that.

Thomas appeared to be on the same page because he currently enjoyed how flexible their lifestyle could be.

Allen then sought Michelle out to talk to her, and he just wanted to make sure that she was okay. Allen said she had every right to feel the way that she did, and he opened up about how much he liked and cared about Madison.

Michelle attempted to plant a seed in Allen's mind that David had possibly attempted to text Madison the night of their hangout session, but Allen wasn't putting the pieces together.

"Am I missing something here?" Allen asked Michelle.

Michelle explained how it didn't seem like David had been replying to a woman's photo via text messages. She thought he was looking at a woman across the bar from him, prompting him to write, "Damn you're so fine."

Allen advised Michelle not to obsess about the details, and then the pair joined the rest of the cast for a "Who is Most Likely?" game. During the game, the cast established that David would be the one most likely to get caught cheating and Emem would be the most likely to swap a Married at First Sight spouse.

Allen briefly left the game and went into the kitchen, where Michelle was grabbing a drink, and Michelle finally alluded to her suspicion about David and Madison's relationship by letting Allen know that Madison and David had gone to a second bar together the night of their hangout.

"Am I spiraling?" Michelle asked Allen.

"I can't personally see that," Allen replied.

"Do you think they have each other's phone numbers? They work out together," Michelle asked.

"Honestly, I've never thought about it," Allen responded. "Oh god!"

"Because in my mind, there is no photo. He was with somebody and sent a message, and Michelle and Madison could be confusing. I could be wrong, and that's why I'm keeping this between us," Michelle told Allen.

Allen said he needed to process things, but Michelle asked him to really think about it.

"I'm praying to god this is a spiral. My gut says you are [wrong]," Allen noted.

"And I hope I am!" Michelle insisted.

Allen started to cry, and then Michelle pointed out how she could be wrong and it may not be true.

"I put so much trust in her. I've always said, 'You always have all of my trust until you f-ck me over,'" Allen explained to Michelle.

"I just got through telling her how much I care. There is a little hole engraved in my heart that she has, and the possibility of [her and David] is f-cking disgusting. In my heart of hearts, I genuinely do not [think that's true], but if that is the case, I'm going to flip my sh-t."

In attempt to get to the bottom of things, Michelle went straight to the source and pulled Madison aside for a chat.

Michelle explained to Madison how there was no proof this girl Tiffany even existed and David continued to lie to her. Michelle therefore admitted to Madison that she thought David had meant to send his sext to her.

"Was that message for you?" Michelle asked.

"I don't think so. It should not have been," Madison replied.

"You don't think so, or you know it's not?" Michelle asked with a nervous laugh.

"No, it shouldn't have been for me... Why would it be meant for me?" Madison asked.

Madison insisted that she did not receive a text message from David that night. She recalled how Allen and David were together for most of the time until she, Karla and David went to a second bar together.

But Madison claimed she hardly saw David that night and they left the bar after 15 minutes.

Madison admitted that she had David's number because they saw each other at the gym every other day, and when Michelle asked if they texted each other, Madison replied, "No, but we have before."

"[We've texted], 'Are you going to the gym?' But that's it," Madison alleged. "Do you want to look at my phone?"

Michelle said she didn't need to see Madison's phone, but she thought Madison's answers were very suspicious.

Allen, meanwhile, was alone in a bedroom and didn't want to spend time with Madison. He also thought things looked fishy and Michelle's suspicion was more likely than he wanted to admit.

That night, Michelle decided to flat out ask David if he had meant to sext Madison.

"No," David replied.

"Are you curious as to why I came up with that? If it was me, I'd be like, 'What?! Why are you saying her?" Michelle said.

"No, I'm not curious," David replied.

"So it would make sense that I would think it's her?" Michelle asked.

"That's you thinking what you're thinking what you want to say," David responded.

Michelle couldn't believe David was acting so nonchalant about this, and she thought his casual attitude indicated that she may have been on to something. Michelle asked David to come clean, but he insisted he already had and that he was done with this conversation.

"I think I have my answers," Michelle concluded.

Madison later asked Michelle why she was being brought into her relationship problems, and Michelle explained how Madison was David's type and she didn't suspect Karla at all.

"If you don't believe me, you don't believe me, but I don't know what else to say," Madison announced, replying in a similar manner to how David reacted to things.

But Madison added, "I'm not involved in this. It's not my stuff. That text was not meant for me. I don't know who it was meant for. We texted a couple times about gym times and that's it... I'm not hiding anything from you, Michelle, but you don't seem to believe it."

Since Michelle admitted she was so "confused," Madison went upstairs and got her phone. She proceeded to show Michelle her messages on social media as well as her log of text messages.

Madison showed how there was "nothing there" with David, but Michelle thought it was strange she had zero messages with David when Madison had already owned up to texting David about the gym.

Madison claimed she had texted with David "weeks and weeks ago" and so it didn't matter, but Michelle was aggravated that those messages weren't available to see and had clearly been deleted.

At this point, Madison got fed up with Michelle and said there was nothing else she could do.

"You're making me out to be this bad guy, and I don't appreciate it... I want to go home, honestly," Madison said.

Madison then walked into a room and a producer followed her in there with a camera secretly recording them from the hallway.

"Is there any truth to that?" the producer asked.

"I don't know," Madison replied with heavy breath. "I never wanted to hurt anybody. That's going to break Allen's heart into a f-cking million pieces."

After Michelle confided in Karla, Madison knocked on David's door and asked to speak with him.

Madison and David had a conversation in a den of the house, and Madison said she just wanted to be honest with him about where she was at.

"I feel like you and I -- we instantly had chemistry from the gym and we got along at the honeymoon," Madison shared.

"And, you know, I've really enjoyed our gym dates and going out with our friends. I feel like you and I just have really good conversations, and I do like you, probably more than I should."

David acted surprised and smiled big, and then Madison revealed how she couldn't continue in her marriage because it wouldn't be fair to Allen.

"I know that it's messy, but I think this could be something, from my perspective. I know it's a lot and I'm kind of putting you on the spot," Madison said.

"I'll be honest with you as well. I felt that connection with you," David replied, "and I appreciate you because you were the only one who was actually giving me attention."

David voiced how their first step was going to be talking to Allen, and Madison agreed.

"I can't keep dragging Allen along. It's not fair to him," Madison said.

David acknowledged how they weren't being fair to either Allen or Michelle, and then he opened his heart to Madison.

"I'll be completely honest with you: seeing you in the gym in the morning, it kind of made my day. You asking me questions that I was not getting at home... I guess it started in the gym," David confirmed.

Madison suggested they should keep getting to know each other, and then David admitted, "I could see it being something. I'll be real with you -- I could see you being my 'ride or die.'"

"That's a big statement," Madison said with a giggle.

David confirmed that he had feelings for her and, finally, that his sext that night was meant for her.

"I never received it," Madison claimed.

"I know," David acknowledged, "because I sent it to my wife!"

Madison knew she and David were going to hurt people, but she reminded him that they had joined Married at First Sight for spouses and not to make friends. The couple then hugged and talked about how things were about to get way worse.

David then went downstairs and asked Allen if they could talk outside by the fire.

"What we've got is a situation," David told Allen.

"Just f-cking say it. Please," Allen said.

"Me and Madison have a connection that you and her don't have and I don't have with my wife. That is that. There has been nothing physical but we just f-cking vibe, Allen. It was natural and not anything done on purpose," David confessed.

Allen asked when they had started talking, and David said it was at the gym when they had talked about each other's marriages and sought advice from each other.

"We vibe hard," David reiterated.

"Bro, I don't give a f-ck! No. 1, I saw you as a friend," Allen said.

"I still see you as a friend," David said.

"F-ck you," Allen countered.

Allen vented to his former friend: "No. 2, I always put a lot of f-cking trust into Madison, unwarranted trust. I knew I wasn't her f-cking man from f-cking Day 1. I told her, 'The second you don't want to be with me, you should f-cking tell me.' She didn't do that. She bullsh-tted me and she played me."

When David insisted that wasn't the case, Allen snapped, "No! F-ck her and f-ck you!"

David promised Allen that Madison was really trying in their marriage, but Allen wasn't buying it. Allen said he saw from the beginning that Madison wasn't interested in him and he really struggled.

"Ditto! That's why we got so f-cking close. How do you think it makes me feel right now telling you this, bro? We were in the same f-cking position," David said.

David apologized to Allen, and then Allen asked if he had f-cked Madison.

"No, I didn't f-ck her! We are friends, platonic! She knows more about me than my own f-cking wife, bro, because she asks me questions!" David said.

"Do you see something going on with Madison that you can actually find that as your [future]?" Allen asked.

"Yes, I'll be 100 with you, and it's f-cked up!" David replied.

"Go for it, brother. I'm done," Allen concluded.

Allen walked away from David and both Emem and Juan tried to comfort him and calm him down. Allen was crying and complained about how much David and Madison had hurt him.

"I put so f-cking much into it," Allen sobbed.

"Literally, on the honeymoon, [I asked], 'What's going on? What's up?'... And, you know, her response was, 'I'm not attracted to you.' [They were] little, superficial things. You don't like my shirt? I'll get a new f-cking shirt! If this happened a day ago, then fine, but this is not new! This is not new."

Allen vented about how he had just spent $3,000 on clothes to impress Madison and she didn't need to drag him along. Allen said his skin was "crawling" and he didn't want to see Madison because she had made him out to look like a fool.

Allen decided that he was "done" and wanted to go home to see his dog. But before he left, he violently threw a cup in the kitchen and then kicked and punched one of the cabinets.

Allen also cried about how Madison looked at him in "disgust" and he couldn't believe how she had treated him. Allen also confirmed to Michelle that she was right -- that her women's intuition was right.

"I'm sorry. I didn't want to be right, Allen," Michelle said.

Allen repeated how he was done but it broke his heart, and then he left the house without speaking to Madison.

David proceeded to apologize to Michelle for lying to her about "everything," including how his sext was meant for Madison and not a woman named Tiffany.

Michelle nodded with her arms crossed and scolded him for making her look crazy when she was right all along.

"You kept saying, 'It's true. I'm honest. Take my word for it. I'm an honest guy. I'm a great guy! You still think that?" Michelle asked.

"I still think I'm a great guy because I know I am, and I never tried to maliciously hate you or not be with you. I wanted this marriage to work," David replied.

"It's okay then, go hook up with my friend, I guess," Michelle quipped.

"I'm not trying to hook up with your friend. She asked me questions about how I felt... She knew more about me than you do," David said.

David said he wasn't trying to make her look crazy and he had "f-cked up and lied," but Michelle thanked him for finally owning up to his mistakes -- after putting her down.

Michelle told the cameras that David was certainly not a good man.

"He is a liar, he's dishonest. Loyalty and integrity mean nothing to him. He's literal trash. To not have any regard for me or your good friend, Allen, yeah, he's the opposite of everything he claims he is," Michelle said in a confessional.

Michelle then confronted Madison and asked if she had anything to say for herself.

"Are you going to come in with guns blazing?" Madison asked.

"I'm a little pissed!" Michelle responded.

"Do you want to have a conversation?" Madison asked.

"Let's go!" Michelle said.
