The spinoff follows five returning couples from the first two seasons of Love After Lockup as they continue to make the complicated transition to love in the real world with a partner who has recently been released from prison.

The couples who star on the spinoff are Clint and Tracie; Marcelino and Brittany; the love triangle of Megan, Michael, and Sarah; Scott and Lizzie; and Andrea and Lamar.

These couples, whether together or estranged, will continue to "face parole restrictions, temptation, and turbulence in their lives outside of prison walls," according to WE tv.

Former inmates Tracie, Brittany, Michael, Lizzie and Lamar will also be shown facing new challenges throughout the course of the season -- from raising children and buying first homes to finding work and trying to stay sober.

Below is the latest on each couple, love triangle or exes, according to the debut broadcast of Love After Lockup: Life After Lockup:

CLINT and TRACIE

Clint is a 38-year-old assistant manager from Hobbs, NM, and he's married to Tracie, a 38-year-old whom spent nine months behind bars for fraudulent checks and probation violation.

The episode kicked off with Tracie on parole and living with Clint. She had been locked up on and off since 2010, and this marked the first time she truly felt free.

"The heart wants what it wants, and my heart wants Tracie," Clint told the cameras.

Tracie had been in Hobbs for two months, and she loved this low-key simple life with Clint. However, Tracie had no friends, and Clint's mother wouldn't even answer her phone calls. She was yearning to be accepted.

Tracie admitted she didn't care about anything but her "next fix" and she was "out of her mind" at the time. Tracie just wanted to make up for everything she had done and make things right with Clint.

Clint warned Tracie that if she returned to jail again, their relationship would be over for good.

The couple planned to enjoy a vacation in Las Vegas together soon. Clint was a little worried about taking a former addict to such a wild place, but he wanted to make his "goddess" happy.

Tracie then asked Clint if he could call his mother soon so she could spend some time with her. Tracie wanted to be the daughter-in-law Clint's mother always wanted.

Clint was later shown meeting with parents and begging them to accept his wife. Clint asked his mother to give Tracie one more chance, but she wasn't over the fact Tracie had left him one night with his car and money.

Clint's mother feared Tracie would fall back to using again, and she didn't want that for her son because it broke his heart. Clint's mom said it would break her heart to watch her son suffer again.

"I don't want to give her the benefit of the doubt, because in my heart, she's not the right girl for him," Clint's mother told the cameras. "I know my son."

Clint promised Tracie was trying to turn her life around and she was working really hard and had earned his parents' respect and faith in her.

But Clint's mother needed Tracie to prove herself and her intentions.

"This is the mother of all promises -- she will not mess up," Clint assured his worried mother, who was in tears at a certain point.

MEGAN, MICHAEL and SARAH

Megan, a 29-year-old who works in home health care, was still talking to Michael, a 27-year-old rapper who was married to Sarah, a 24-year-old server.

Michael was required to spend four months behind bars for violating his parole, and he was still incarcerated at the time of filming.

Megan thought she would be married and living with the love of her life by this time, but that didn't happen. However, she was still communicating with Michael and called him "bae."

When they hung up the phone, Megan said, "I love you too," but none of her family and friends wanted her to date Michael.

But Megan didn't care because she cared about Michael and claimed he'd never be able to pull the wool over her eyes again considering she was well aware he was married and had a baby on the way.

Megan then explained she and Sarah had argued on Twitter recently in which Sarah accused her of being a "home wrecker" and Megan called Sarah a liar.

Megan planned to visit Michael in the near future, but her friends wanted her to find a loyal and honest man, not someone who hides information and lies to his partner.

Michael apparently told Megan that he was going to get a divorce from Sarah, but Megan wanted to make sure he was going to follow through on that. She also apparently had a secret to tell him, and she wasn't sure how he'd react.

On the day of Michael's release, Sarah was nine months pregnant. She said it was "really sad" to be pregnant alone, without her partner.

Sarah didn't know what to think about Michael and Megan because Michael swore he didn't really love her and wanted to make their marriage work.

"He was my best friend, and in a perfect world, I would have a future with Michael," Sarah confessed.

Sarah thought about welcoming Michael home "for a second," but she acknowledged she had other priorities and a bigger responsibility, which was her second daughter.

Sarah was also irritated Megan would be at his release because of the way they had been communicating during his incarceration.

Sarah claimed she had done a lot for Michael while he was in jail.

"If she shows up at his release, then once again, everything is a lie," Sarah said of Megan and Michel.

But Megan's heart was pulling her "like a magnet" to Michael. Megan flew to Michigan to get questions answers, and she didn't know what to expect.

Michael told Megan that he didn't love Sarah and he didn't want to be with her. Since Megan had dedicated two years of her life to her relationship with Michael, she said they had a strong connection that she couldn't just ignore.

Michael also apparently told Megan when he was behind bars that she was his "oxygen" and he needed her and was sorry.

"If you want to be with your wife, then be with your wife. But your actions are telling me something different," Megan vented.

Meanwhile, Michael's mother Carolyn and sister DayDay hoped Megan wouldn't be at Michael's release. They didn't care about Megan and wanted Michael to be a good father to his children.

Megan said, however, it was time for everyone to face the music, and that's why she showed up to Michael's release. Megan also wanted to know why Carolyn never said anything about Michael being married.

Megan argued she had done more for Michael while he was locked up than his mother and sister combined. With one hour until Michael's release, the three women waited for him in a parking lot -- and it was tense and awkward.

Both Carolyn and DayDay took Sarah's side in this, and the pair didn't even want to speak to Megan.

Megan, however, asked DayDay to explain her issue with her, and DayDay said Megan had disrespected her on social media because Michael is married to Sarah.

"I'm not going to sit up in here and let Sarah look like a fool," DayDay told Megan.

"B-tch, f-ck you," Megan told the cameras afterward.

SCOTT and LIZZIE

Scott, a 51-year-old trucker driver from Oxnard, CA, was shown shopping for new clothes with his pal for an upcoming blind date.

After he and Lizzie, a 41-year-old from Portage, WI, had parted ways, Scott got a new girlfriend named Jasmine -- but they also eventually split because Lizzie was apparently always in the back of Scott's mind.

Scott was therefore a single guy at the time of filming. He spent a lot of money on clothes and admitted he was $50,000 in debt but he landed a new well-paying job.

Scott disclosed he was still in love with Lizzie and hoped to find another woman who looks just like her. He still apparently held out hope for his future relationship with Lizzie.

Lizzie had been locked up for DUI and bribery of a public official. Once she broke up with Scott, however, she found a job as a forklift driver while on parole.

Lizzie and her 20-year-old daughter, Jazmyne -- who lived four hours away from her mom -- decided to get tattoos together. The pair's relationship had strengthened since Lizzie's breakup with Scott, and Jazmyne was glad to have her mom back on her life.

Lizzie acknowledged Jazmyne was smart and gave great advice. In fact, Lizzie admitted her daughter was more like the mother in their dynamic.

Lizzie was proud of herself for working and being independent. She was making her own money and loved it.

Lizzie wished Scott had "kept it real" with her, but she still had feelings for Scott. Jazmyne, however, thought Scott was a bad guy and was ecstatic about them being apart.

Lizzie was therefore afraid to tell Jazmyne how she felt. Lizzie thought there was hope for a future relationship with Scott, but in the meantime, she had a date set up.

ANDREA and LAMAR

Andrea, a 39-year-old Mormon property manager, is married to Lamar, a 42-year-old student and rapper. Lamar was back behind bars for seven months for probation violation and having a gun on him at the time, and so he was incarcerated at the time of filming.

Lamar, however, was scheduled to be released in two days, and Andrea was thrilled. She intended to drive two hours to pick Lamar up.

Andrea is extremely close to her 17-year-old son Tennison, and he feared Lamar coming back into her life. Tennison was worried Lamar would "mess up again" and "continue hurting" Andrea.

Andrea promised her son that she was going to be okay and he should trust that she'd make good decisions.

Andrea said once Lamar came home, he'd realize she's no longer a "gullible, quiet, Mormon wife." She claimed she was stronger than ever.

Andrea's 14-year-old daughter Nyla insisted Lamar had a lot of changes to make for their family and she didn't want to set expectations for him in case he'd disappoint her again.

MARCELINO and BRITTANY

Marcelino, a 40-year-old poker player from Las Vegas, NV, is married to Brittany, a 28-year-old homemaker from Las Vegas who recently welcomed a child.

Brittany had served two years in prison for conspiracy to commit burglary, and she was finally off parole.

Marcelino and Brittany had bought a home and a dog, and they were excited to have a baby girl together. Brittany also said she had custody of her son from a previous relationship most of the time.

Amanda, Brittany's ex-girlfriend, and Sascha, Brittany's ex-cellmate and best friend, then visited Brittany and her baby, but Marcelino called Sascha "an anchor" and predicted the woman would continue to drag his wife down to the past.

Marcelino wanted his wife to move forward and continue to grow as a person. Marcelino was therefore protective of his daughter once Brittany took out some wine bottles.

Brittany told Marcelino she was "perfectly capable" of having a glass of wine and taking care of her baby. She didn't like how Marcelino was over-protective, because she trusted him and wanted the same from him in return.

Sascha was potentially facing up to 30 years in prison because she had numerous burglary charges under her belt, and her sentencing was coming up. Brittany wasn't sure what was going to happen to Sascha, and she was worried.

Sascha said she never got the opportunity to say "sorry" and it crushed her spirit to know her family was disappointed in her.
