After Lauren, a 24-year-old vocal teacher from Apple Valley, CA, landed a spot on Alicia's team for Season 11 of The Voice, she and her new coach walked backstage to celebrate with her family, which included her son and longtime boyfriend.

But what Lauren didn't see coming was her boyfriend on one knee holding out a diamond ring. Lauren, who got pregnant at age 19, gleefully accepted the marriage proposal and everyone cheered.

"It definitely was a shocker," Lauren told Reality TV World after Tuesday night's episode, which had featured her Blind Audition.

"I had this joke with all of my friends that I would call him my 'fake husband.' You know, he is my son's dad. We've been on and off for six years and it was about time."

While Lauren thought her relationship was ready for the next level, she certainly was not expecting her boyfriend to propose when he did.

"You know, I had no idea he was going to do that! That was obviously -- I walked away because I was literally in shock," Lauren explained. "But it was a long time coming. We kept talking about it."

Lauren became engaged after performing an excellent rendition of Alicia's hit song "If I Ain't Got You." In order to win Lauren over from interested coaches Blake Shelton and Miley Cyrus, Alicia sang a few lines of the song and inserted Lauren's name when applicable, which blew the artist away.

It was truly a night of surprise after surprise for Lauren.

"I can't believe he did it on national television," Lauren added of the proposal, "which was the icing on the cake. It was just really an exciting moment for us."
