Reports of Lauren Conrad's return to The Hills were apparently premature.

"She is focusing on both clothing lines and her books," her representative told Us Weekly in a Monday report.  "She has no plans to return to The Hills at this time."

Conrad's camp was responding to a Saturday report in The New York Post that claimed she was "working out her contract" with MTV to continue as a The Hills cast member despite the show's producer previously confirming Conrad was leaving the show and would not return for additional fifth-season episodes scheduled to air this fall.

"She kind of realized, especially in this economy, there's not much else out there for her," a source told The Post.  "What else can she do that would earn as much?"

Despite the absence of Conrad, new The Hills fifth-season episodes will continue to follow several current cast members -- including Audrina Patridge, Brody Jenner, Stephanie Pratt, Lauren "Lo" Bosworth, Justin Bobby and the newly married Heidi Montag and Spencer Pratt.

MTV also teased several "fresh faces" will appear in the new episodes.  In addition, former Laguna Beach star and Conrad nemesis Kristin Cavallari is also rumored to have landed a role in the new episodes.
