Khloe Kardashian has revealed Lamar Odom doesn't remember what landed him in the hospital and she's not ready to tell him.

During an appearance on The Ellen DeGeneres Show, which airs Monday, Kardashian explained Odom can't recall how he was hospitalized, but informing him of his October 13 drug overdose in a Nevada brothel would impair his recovery, People reported.

"Well I can't tell him -- we tell him he had a brain injury, [but] I can't tell him how that brain injury was caused because that would set him back," the Keeping Up with the Kardashians star told Ellen DeGeneres, adding however, that the former NBA player "doesn't ask" why he's seeking treatment at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles.

"He's really confused a lot, we have to remind him. Every day is different, sometimes he knows who the president is or his birthday, and then other times he thinks he's 26, and I said, 'I bet you wish you were 26, so do I!'"

While Odom cognitively has "a long way to go," Kardashian revealed he's off all machines that assist organ function, he's learning how to walk and feed himself again, and he's able to speak full sentences sometimes.

"He is able to smile and laugh at appropriate time," she noted.

However, some days are clearly better than others for Odom, especially since he suffered multiple strokes after the incident.

"So, today was a really... He couldn't put a lot of words together today," the reality TV star explained. "But he understands."

Kardashian told DeGeneres she's helping Odom because she's always loved him and "that will never change," according to People. She also thought fast-forwarding their divorce would be "a really insensitive thing" to do considering the circumstances.

"He's a fantastic person who deserves support and love and for someone to be by his side, and for me, I'm that to him," Kardashian said. "And thank God I have a fantastic family who loves me and loves him just as much, and they're so supportive and they're with me and I have a great boyfriend who's understanding."

Kardashian has been dating 26-year-old James Harden, an NBA basketball player for the Houston Rockets, since the summer. She insisted Harden has been very supportive of the difficult situation and handling the love-triangle dynamic quite well actually.

"You know, it's definitely a very unique situation, to say the least," Kardashian admitted.

"[James] is fine with it. I mean, we have to communicate a lot. And he's really supportive and great. I think the press and everything, they make it more complicated. I think inside our circle we know exactly what's going on and I feel sometimes it's crazy that I -- yes we live so much of our life in public, but that I have to explain every step when that's kind of frustrating."

Kardashian joked she might have to start telling people she's "part of polygamy" due to the fact she's dating one man while still married to another.

"I have a husband. I have a boyfriend. That's a way easier thing to say. Right?" Kardashian said.

But when DeGeneres pointed out polygamy is when a personal has multiple spouses, Kardashian confessed with a laugh, "Oh, I'm not there yet."
