Tori Spelling and husband Dean McDermott's new inn just got a little more crowded, as the couple recently welcomed their first child.

Liam Aaron McDermott was born on Tuesday, March 13 and weighed 6 pounds 6 ounces after Tori was rushed to a Los Angeles hospital the previous night -- more than two weeks before her expected delivery date -- People reported in its March 26 issue.

"I am ready, ready, ready to meet my little man!" Tori told People prior to the birth.  "I want to be a loving mom, a mom that listens."

Recent money squabbles and the way the mother character was portrayed in Tori's VH1 sitcom NoTORIous had caused the former Beverly Hills 90210 actress to be estranged from her own mother, Candy.  While Tori's mom was noticeably absent from he daughter's February baby shower in West Hollywood, the two are apparently attempting to patch-up their relationship.

"My mom is having a grandchild, and it puts things into perspective," Randy Spelling, Candy's son and Tori's brother, told People.  "They're communicating, and it makes them both happy."

People reported Candy was even at the hospital when Tori gave birth to Liam.

"Words can't describe the joy and elation I feel," Candy told People.  "I'm looking forward to doting on my new grandson and all the fun that comes with it."

The Spelling family will be busy in the realm of reality television in coming weeks.  Tori & Dean: Inn Love, a new six-episode series following the couple as they leave Tinsletown to become innkeepers at their own bed & breakfast in the picturesque wine vineyards of southern California, is scheduled to premiere on Wednesday, March 21 at 10:30PM ET/PT on Oxygen.  Meanwhile Randy is ready to star in Sons Of Hollywood, a new real-life Entourage-like reality series that premieres Sunday, April 1 at 10PM ET/PT on A&E.
