Hannah Ann Sluss has revealed the timeline of events that led to her breakup with The Bachelor star Peter Weber -- including when Peter wanted to contact Hannah Brown -- after they got engaged in Australia.

Peter proposed marriage to Hannah Ann in Alice Springs in November 2019, but it didn't take long for their relationship to fall apart, and fans watched the pair split on Tuesday night's finale of The Bachelor's 24th season.

Once Peter became single again, Chris Harrison arranged a meeting with a regretful Madison Prewett, who still loved the Bachelor despite quitting before the Final Rose Ceremony due to their different lifestyles and lack of compatibility. Peter and Madison are now dating again and trying to make things work.

A devastated Hannah Ann spoke to Rachel Lindsay and Becca Kufrin on their Bachelor Happy Hour podcast after the finale aired and detailed the demise of her relationship that happened behind the scenes.

Becca started out by asking what happened after the Final Rose Ceremony, before she and Peter left Australia. Becca wanted to know if Peter gave her more details about his feelings for Madison and her premature exit at that time.

"No, he always -- whenever that conversation would be brought up, it was always like, 'This is the past.' He always made sure to reassure me that I was his person and I was the love of his life and that he was always going to choose me," Hannah Ann shared.

"But as the season started to roll, things weren't quite adding up."

Rachel therefore asked Hannah Ann to break things down and detail a timeline of events.

"So you get engaged a week before Thanksgiving -- somewhere around that time. You're together this whole time. We talked to Peter the first week in January," Rachel began.

"He tells us he's so happy. We talk to his parents and as we can see, [his mother Barbara Weber] cannot control her emotions and she was happy at that time. If it wasn't you, we already would have known she wasn't okay."

Hannah Ann then confirmed when the season premiered on January 6, she and Peter were still together.

"When did you have the conversation [with Peter] that we saw happen on TV?" Rachel asked.

"Like I said onstage, the beginning of January was when he approached me that he needed to speak to Hannah Brown," Hannah Ann said. "That was the first red flag."

Rachel and Becca jumped all over Hannah Ann when she mentioned that and begged her to dive deeper into that story.

"He told me he needed to talk to Hannah Brown because he needed closure. He was trying to convince me that I should feel comfortable with that," Hannah Ann disclosed.

"And I'm like, 'Why do you [need that]? We're engaged!' And listen, I wasn't on that group date with him and Hannah Brown. I had not seen that episode of them all cozy, cozy on a couch with him crying and her possibly coming back into the house. I had NO idea -- none!" Hannah Ann vented.

"So when he brought that up, I'm like, 'Wait, what?! I know she came back on the season, but can you explain more?' And that was kind of when that episode was coming out. And I was like, 'Why should I feel comfortable with this? I feel like you don't seem ready for any kind of a commitment, let alone an engagement.'"

"I was questioning my own self because he said that was something that he needed," Hannah Ann disclosed. "And I'm like, 'I don't feel quite settled with that.'"

Hannah Ann suggested Peter never got his closure and their conversation about Hannah Brown took place "about a week" before they broke up.

Becca then asked Hannah Ann if Peter was just trying to open the door and test the waters to see what she could handle because he might've still had Madison on the brain.

"Probably. I don't know," Hannah Ann said. "That was so close to us breaking up!"

Hannah Ann said when the season started airing on ABC, Peter claimed he had "unresolved issues" but she promised to remain by his side.

"His unresolved issues were having to watch back the show. Once again, completely downplayed it -- completely," Hannah Ann recalled.

The bachelorette then revealed on the morning of her breakup with Peter, they had agreed to keep their relationship going!

"When I showed up to the breakup, that was the very first time I heard him say, 'I can't give you my full heart,'" Hannah Ann said.

"And I told him before I even went out there, I said, 'Hey, if you're wanting to end things, can you give me a little bit of a heads up? I'll be fine, trust me. I'll cry, but just give me a head up.' And we had actually talked that morning that we weren't going to break up, that we were going to work through it."

Hannah Ann said this conversation took place "at the very end of January" -- and that Peter's internal struggle didn't even start until January.

Rachel noted she couldn't believe Hannah Ann's relationship ended this way because Peter was ecstatic on the day of his marriage proposal. She therefore asked Hannah Ann, "What happened?!"

Rachel wanted to know what led to Hannah Ann thinking her reunion with Peter in L.A. might be a breakup conversation.

"It's just like what he told my parents even after our breakup, that he was having trouble processing all of his emotions. Peter does not own up completely to the whole truth, just kind of like on our engagement day," Hannah Ann said.

"He knew if he told me the full extent where his heart and head was at that entire week, he knew the outcome would have been different. He knew that when we sat down and had an open and honest conversation, my instincts would have picked up on he's not ready for a commitment. And that's not what he wanted."

Becca acknowledged Peter had his "head in the clouds" and was a hopeless romantic during his season. She thought he hyped himself up into believing certain things sometimes when maybe his heart truly didn't feel that way.

Becca also reasoned that maybe Peter's buried feelings for Madison resurfaced when he began watching the season back and relived his first one-on-one date with her.

Hannah Ann said she simply deserved the truth, and had she heard the truth to begin with, she probably would have chosen differently in the end.

"I don't know exactly what happened. Nothing really surprises me about Peter, but watching the season back has actually been really helpful for me," Hannah Ann admitted.

"It's helped me work through any unresolved feelings I had towards him, because I'm able to see how he is consistently -- indecisive and confused -- and who wants to be with that?!" Hannah Ann complained.

"That doesn't make me feel secure in being with him, and so it's really helped me move forward because I deserve more than someone half-loving me. I deserve someone who's going to give me 100 percent. And I felt like me being so clear and not playing mind games, he would give me that in return."

"But really, he was reckless with my heart," Hannah Ann concluded.
