While Duets' exact premiere date and time periods haven't been determined yet, the four-week unscripted series will air on Thursdays and Fridays prior to Fox's broadcast of Major League Baseball's October playoffs.

First announced in January, Duets will be a Dancing with the Stars-like celebrity reality competition that will follow the professional singers as they instruct their celebrity partners, choose songs and perform duets in front of a panel of judges and live studio audience. Similar to Fox's American Idol series in which Cowell serves as one of the show's three judges, Duets viewers will vote for their favorites after each Thursday night performance show ends. On Fridays, a results show will send one or more of the singing pairs home.

According to Fox, each of the pairs will (Celebrity Poker Showdown-style) compete on behalf of a charity of their choice.
