The former Top Chef contestant and Brad Grossman are the new proud parents of their son Jackson Robert Grossman, People reported

Jackson -- Cascone and Grossman plan to nickname Jax -- was born at 3:17PM on January 3 in New York City, weighing seven pounds and four ounces and measuring 19 inches in length.

"We both love the name Jackson from one of our favorite shows, Sons of Anarchy, and his middle name is after my stepdad who died of cancer a few years ago," Cascone told People last week.

And the new parents couldn't be happier about Jax's birth, as Cascone struggles with a medical condition that can complicate pregnancy.

"We had a natural childbirth and after suffering from endometriosis for several years, I am ecstatic that we were able to conceive this beautiful miracle baby! We will be taking him to work with us very soon!" Cascone explained.

Endometriosis is a condition in which the tissue that lines the inside of the uterus -- called the endometrium or endometrial lining -- is found growing in other areas outside of the uterus such as the ovaries, fallopian tubes and nearby structures of the pelvis.

Cascone competed on Top Chef: Chicago, the Bravo culinary competition's fourth season, and finished in sixth place.
