The 33-year-old television personality explained the breakup in the Mar. 6 issue of People following news Tarek, her husband and co-star, filed for divorce.

"Like any couple, we had our share of issues. But we went through a lot in a short amount of time," Christina said of Tarek's cancer diagnosis and their fertility issues.

"I was overwhelmed. The tension between me and Tarek was high," she added of her return to work after welcoming son Brayden.

"We weren't able to properly communicate anymore. It got to the point where we weren't even driving to set together."

Tarek filed for divorce from Christina in January after announcing their split the month previous after seven years of marriage.

Christina, who shares Brayden and daughter Taylor with Tarek, has since been spotted with rumored boyfriend Gary Anderson.

"It's a safe relationship, and she's happy with him," a source told InTouch Weekly this month. "Gary's been there for her while she's gone through hell with Tarek."
