Becca Droz and Floyd Pierce were eliminated from The Amazing Race's 31st season, right before the final leg when one team will win $1 million, during Wednesday night's broadcast on CBS.

Becca Droz, 28, and Floyd Pierce, 23 -- who raced as friends and former The Amazing Race Racers (Season 29) from Boulder, CO, and Highlands Ranch, CO, respectively -- were ousted from the Race after arriving at the tenth Pit Stop in Amsterdam, The Netherlands in last place.

"It sucks to lose, but we have more to be grateful for than to be sad about," Becca said following her team's elimination. "Floyd and I are some of the luckiest people in the world, that we got to live our dream -- not just our dream but our delusional childhood dream."

"Twice," Floyd noted.

During an exclusive interview with Reality TV World after the episode aired, Becca and Floyd talked about their The Amazing Race experience. Below is the first portion of what they had to say.

Reality TV World: I'm sorry things didn't work out better for you guys this season.

Floyd Pierce: We are mostly over it. (Laughs)

Reality TV World: Did you two ever see Nicole Franzel and Victor Arroyo in the waterway heading to the Pit Stop? And how long after them did you finally arrive to the island and check in with Phil Keoghan?

Becca Droz: I don't think we saw them in the waterway, no. And we heard [we arrived] 15 minutes after them when we checked in. It's not much.

Reality TV World: So when you were docking your boat at the Pit Stop, you decided not to count how many boats were already there, as if you didn't want the bad news broken to you in that moment. Were you pretty certain you were in last place at that point?

Floyd Pierce: Yes, we very much did, but then as we were doing that canal challenge, it took like over an hour. We started feeling hope and didn't know where other teams were. Also, those canals were, like, a maze.

You could easily miss boats or just get lost. There were points when we had to take a specific turn to get to that central lake-island area, where Phil is. So we just started playing with the idea of penalties [and such].

We didn't know we were out until we were out. We really suspected we were in last place, but then we knew you never know. So we were keeping that hope alive, and part of keeping that hope alive was not counting the boats. (Laughs)

Becca Droz: That hope be dope!

Reality TV World: It seemed like Becca was hoping for a non-elimination leg. Were you aware there were none left?

Becca Droz: We knew there was no non-elimination legs left. I think we were just trying to pull any piece of hope that we could out, by thinking, "Okay, it's Team Fun's destiny to win! We're not going to lose! We can't lose. That just can't happen. So we must be able to keep racing." So that would technically be a non-elim. So that's where that came from.

Reality TV World: You two got lost on your bicycles trying to find the cow Detour task. How long did you get lost for? And what happened there exactly?

Floyd Pierce: Yeah, so I think we were lost for about 30 minutes or so. What happened was as soon as we left the yacht club, the Detour clue said one challenge was at Farm No. 3 and the other challenge was at Farm No. 27.

We saw farmlands to our left and then the main road was to our right. So at first, we went back to the main road. Instead of asking for directions, we found a roadside map. We ended up identifying this trail on the map that would lead to the farm [we wanted to go to].

And it turned out that yeah, we took the right trail, but we just ignored the way or the direct route to the challenge, which would've just been along the main road. So we took this super roundabout [way].

Becca Droz: Of back roads.

Floyd Pierce: Yeah. So we saw some good scenery, but it cost us a lot of time.

Reality TV World: It was clear though your big downfall in this leg was not checking your eggs before taking off to the market to deliver them. Were you just so stressed and tired that you forgot to check or did you think at the time it wouldn't have been a big deal if one egg was slightly cracked?

Becca Droz: Yeah, there was really not much rational thinking going on at that point. I know I really felt invincible pole-vaulting across that mote with those eggs in my hand. And I put a bunch of grass inside the eggs to cushion them.

And I didn't think I had knocked them, which just wasn't rational. And I think we were in such a survival mode at this point that the stress in our brains was causing us to not really think through something.

We didn't realize how important that was going to be, and yeah, it's a puzzle! It's been something I've been trying to reason with -- like, why or what was happening. Why wouldn't we check the eggs?

I don't know. I just don't know. But I think what I've come to, through some help of therapy, (laughs) is that our brains release a lot of stress hormones and we were literally in survival mode. And that's just, yeah, blame it on the physiology, I don't know.

Reality TV World: Even if you guys checked your eggs, I'm not sure you would've even caught that little crack on the side the man at the market picked up on. (Laughs)

Floyd Pierce: Oh gosh, yeah.

Becca Droz: Yeah, I don't know.

Reality TV World: Do you think it's possible you were accidentally handed an egg that had already been cracked a tiny bit?

Becca Droz: No, I think we cracked it.

Floyd Pierce: Yeah. I trust the Race wouldn't mess up like that.

Reality TV World: How long overall do you think it took you to go back to pole vaulting, collect more eggs and then travel back to the market? Are we talking like a half hour or maybe even longer than that?

Becca Droz: Probably.

Floyd Pierce: Yeah, each one-way ride -- it was a long bike ride through the town to each Detour. And each ride probably took, like, 15 or so minutes, if not a little more, one way.

So going to the Detour, getting U-Turned and then going back to the town and then going back to the Detour and then going back to the town, it was four one-way trips, so it could've been an hour or so. But that's an estimate; we don't really know. But it wasn't a short bike ride.

Becca Droz: And we were pushing! We were pushing so hard. We were exhausted.

Reality TV World: It did look like a very physically-demanding leg. Victor even said at one point he had no energy left.

Floyd Pierce: Yeah! His leg cramped up. (Laughs)

Reality TV World: Colin Guinn, Christie Woods, Tyler Oakley and Korey Kuhl arrived at the Double U-Turn first and chose not to use it. Did that surprise you? Because instead of letting Leo Temory and Jamal Zadran do their dirty work, they could have U-Turned a really strong team like Leo and Jamal in attempt to knock them out before the finale.

Floyd Pierce: Yes. I don't know about you, Becca, but it didn't really surprise me per se, just based on the fact they were both very conscious about trying to run a very clean race and keeping their hands clean.

And they knew they were in front of the pack and didn't really have to do that. So, it didn't surprise me.

Also, we had a conversation when we were leaving the airport in Croatia that we'd all just kind of fly through the U-Turn board and not U-Turn each other, whoever was in that group at the time.

So I wasn't really surprised to see that they didn't do it. But then you're right, strategically, they [decided to] fly through it and let Leo and Jamal take care of U-Turning a team behind them so there's no blood on their hands.

I think they knew it was going to be used, or were hoping it was going to be used, and they just knew they didn't have to be the ones to do the dirty work.
