Phil Robertson has bought his wife a wedding ring.

Robertson, a 67-year-old bearded Duck Dynasty star and devout Christian who's recently made headlines for making offensive anti-gay comments, gave his wife Miss Kay a ring for Christmas on December 25.

"After 50 years of marriage Papaw Phil finally gave Mamaw Kay a wedding ring for Christmas," his granddaughter Sadie Robertson tweeted earlier this week alongside a photo of the couple showing off Miss Kay's new ring on her left hand.

Robertson expressed his views on marriage during a recent Bible study in his hometown of West Monroe, LA, the Daily Mail reported.

"If you're a man, find yourself a woman, marry them and keep your sex right there... Commonsense says we are not going to procreate the human race unless we have a man and a woman. From the beginning Jesus said, 'It is a man and a woman.' Adam was made and Eve was made for this reason. They left their fathers and mothers and be united to become one flesh, that's what marriage is all about," he explained.

A&E suspended Robertson indefinitely from Duck Dynasty due to the anti-gay comments he had made in a recent interview with GQ magazine. The network claimed to be "extremely disappointed" to have read about his personal views, which "in no way reflect those of A&E Networks."

Robertson had told GQ he feels what's right and wrong has become blurred in society and homosexuality is on the same level as terrorism, alcoholism and bestiality. He said he "never, ever" passes judgement on such people but God will eventually sort out the "homosexuals, drunks and terrorists."

The Robertson family has made it clear they fully support him. The clan said in an official statement they're "disappointed" Robertson has been placed on hiatus "for expressing his faith, which is his constitutionally protected right."

"We have had a successful working relationship with A&E but, as a family, we cannot imagine the show going forward without our patriarch at the helm," the clan continued. "We are in discussions with A&E to see what that means for the future of Duck Dynasty."

Duck Dynasty will return to A&E with new episodes next month. Robertson will reportedly appear in the upcoming episodes but will not be able to film any new episodes for an unspecified amount of time.
