Dancing with the Stars eliminated former NBA basketball player Rick Fox and professional partner Cheryl Burke during Tuesday night's seventh live eleventh-season results show on ABC.

Fox and Burke were ousted from the competition based on the combination of the Dancing with the Stars judges' scores they received during Monday night's performance show and the home viewer votes that were cast afterwards.

"Thank you to the judges, thank you to my fellow contestants.  Cheryl, [you] did an amazing job working with a tall jolly green giant," Fox said after Dancing with the Stars host Tom Bergeron announced his elimination.

"It's been a transformational journey for me, it's been amazing.  My relationship has transformed with my girlfriend.  [And] my daughter -- it's the most enjoyable time having her here and sharing this with me as well."

Fox and Burke had finished tied for third place on Monday night's judging leaderboard after they received 61 out of 70 possible points during Monday night's show, which featured the competition's six remaining couples each recreating a memorable prior season performance as well as competing in a "cha cha cha" challenge in which they were divided into two teams that were captained by former Dancing with the Stars champions Kristi Yamaguchi and Apolo Anton Ohno.

Fox told Dancing with the Stars co-host Brooke Burke he hadn't sensed his elimination coming.

"I didn't have any idea.  You stay in a positive frame of mind, it is though the seventh week so the numbers do decline and you know someone goes home at the end of tonight," he said.

Disney Channel star Kyle Massey and partner Lacey Schwimmer were the other couple still in danger of elimination prior to Fox and Burke's ouster, however Bergeron did not specify whether they were the other couple in the bottom two based on the combination of the judges' scoring and home viewer votes from Monday night's performances.

Massey and Schwimmer had finished in fifth place on the judging leaderboard with 59 total points.

In addition to Fox and Burke's elimination, Dancing with the Stars' results show broadcast also featured ABC's announcement of the six celebrities who will compete on Skating with the Stars, a new Dancing-like celebrity competition the network will premiere on November 22.

Similar to Dancing with the Stars, Skating with the Stars will pair a celebrity and world-class ice skater who will perform live and receive scores from a panel of expert judges.  Like Dancing with the Stars, the judges' scores will then be combined with home viewer votes and one couple will be eliminated each week during the show's six-episode run.

Former The Real Housewives of New York City star Bethenny Frankel, Olympic gold-medal skier Jonny Moseley, All My Children star Rebecca Budig, Disney Channel star Brandon Mychal Smith, film actress Sean Young, and rocker Vince Neil will compete on the new series.
