Dancing with the Stars judge Derek Hough has announced he's tested positive for coronavirus with the reality dancing competition's Season 30 finale right around the corner.
Derek, 36, took to his Instagram Stories on Tuesday morning to make the announcement of his breakthrough COVID-19 case, only hours after appearing in the Dancing with the Stars ballroom for Monday night's performance show.
"Hey everyone, I have news to share and I wanted you to hear it straight from me. Even though I've been fully vaccinated, I've just been diagnosed with a breakthrough case of COVID. I just found out," Derek shared.
"And I feel okay. I feel strong, but I'm currently taking advice from medical professionals, doing everything I can to get better as fast as I can."
Derek said he is currently quarantining and promised fans, "I'll keep you all updated with what's going on."
Derek, however, did not specify whether he'll be able to participate in Dancing with the Stars' big Season 30 finale airing next Monday night on ABC.
"But I just wanted to send a lot of love out there to you all and, yeah, stay safe," he concluded.
Derek also uploaded the video as an Instagram post on Tuesday and captioned it, "UPDATE: This week's shows in Vegas will be rescheduled for a date soon, stay tuned and I'll announce the new dates shortly!"
Derek already missed one Dancing with the Stars broadcast in early October due to a potential COVID-19 exposure.
"Due to a potential COVID exposure, and although he is fully vaccinated and tested negative, Derek will sit out tonight's show out of an abundance of caution," Dancing with the Stars host Tyra Banks announced at the top of the October 4 episode.
And earlier this season, both pro dancer Cheryl Burke and her celebrity partner, Peloton instructor Cody Rigsby, tested positive for breakthrough coronavirus cases one after the next.

When Cheryl was battling COVID-19 in late September, she and Cody were judged based on a previous in-studio practice performance and ultimately survived elimination.
Cody tested positive for COVID-19 days after Cheryl, and so the couple also danced their routine for "Britney Night" -- which paid tribute to pop icon Britney Spears -- live via videochat from their respective homes.
Although their scores have placed them at the bottom of the judges' leaderboard multiple times, fans have voted Cody and Cheryl through the competition week to week, and they will be competing in the Season 30 finale on Monday, November 22 at 8PM ET/PT on ABC.
