Dancing with the Stars eliminee Hayes Grier apparently had a great experience on the show, but now that he's gone, he's rooting for one person in particular to win.

"You definitely have to root for the people you become close with on the season, and I became close with [Carlos PenaVega]. I've got to give it to him. He's doing really well," Grier said during a Tuesday appearance on Good Morning America.

Grier and his pro partner Emma Slater tied for second place on Monday night's DWTS leaderboard with two other couples. He was also a part of the winning "Team Freestyle" routine.

"I'm glad I was able to go out with a bang," Grier noted. "It was nice being able to win the 'Team Dance.' That was good, ending [Derek Hough]'s streak, and I had a lot of fun on the show and I had an amazing partner. I took a lot away from it."

He joked that he learned a lot of British slang from Slater and "couldn't ask for a better partner."

At only age 15, Grier competed on the show. He revealed whether he believes it hurt him to be the youngest male ever on Dancing with the Stars.

"There are definitely ups and downs with being my age and what not, so you've just got to find your advantages and use them. And frankly, I think having Emma as my partner, she used me and my age and my demographic to our advantage. I had a great time on Dancing with the Stars and I was able to create some great memories," Grier explained.

"I think [age] worked for him," Slater added. "I think he had so much energy and you had to stop him from, like, climbing up the walls at times. So it really helped in rehearsal that he was with me all the time and we had a lot of focus. For that, I think it was an advantage, definitely."

Slater also told GMA how Grier probably made the most progress of any of the contestants on the show.

"I think out of everybody on the show, it's kind of safe to say he had the most improvement," Slater insisted. "I took someone with absolutely no dance experience and he showed me that he can really progress and I'm really, really happy. This whole season has been amazing. I adore him."

On a side note, Slater admitted she hasn't gone on a date with Alek Skarlatos yet but plans to. She also hopes he wins Dancing with the Stars' 21st season.
