Julianne Hough could reportedly go from dancing on the small screen to dancing on the big screen.

The two-time Dancing with the Stars professional champion has been offered the lead female role in the upcoming Footloose remake, Us Weekly reported Friday.

Paramount's remake of the 1984 film is currently slated to begin filming next March, which means Hough would almost certainly be unavailable to compete on Dancing with the Stars Spring 2010 installment.

"Julianne Hough has been offered the part in Footloose, and it is contingent on scheduling," a Paramount Studio rep told Us.

Hough has also previously stated that she plans on skipping Dancing with the Stars' ninth season this fall to instead focus on her career as a country singer.

Should Hough accept the role, she'll be starring opposite Gossip Girl's actor Chace Crawford -- who accepted the remake's lead male role last month after High School Musical star Zac Efron stepped down to pursue non-musical roles.

Hough would be playing the role of Ariel Moore, which was originally played by Lori Singer, while Crawford would take-on the character of Ren McCormack, originally played by Kevin Bacon.

Last month, Hough's brother Derek confirmed his own interest in starring in the remake after he previously played the role of Ren in the 2006 West End production of Footloose the Musical.
