Christian Cuevas will probably make America fall in love with him, according to his coach Alicia Keys.

Christian faced off against Jason Warrior for his Battle earlier this week. Alicia asked the two guys to sing "Hello" by Adele, and although The Voice coach was smitten with both artists, she advanced Christian because she said he accessed "a real place" and was "brave enough" to let everyone into his mind and heart.

During a conference call with reporters, Christian said he was actually "surprised" he won the Battle.

"I mean, if you watched it, you know, I messed up my words a little bit -- I stumbled a little bit and stuff. But I picked myself up and we did exactly like we practiced and stuff," Christian explained.

"It was just like another rehearsal in the room but in front of people. And I'm just super happy and I feel really blessed to keep moving on in the competition and super excited to see what God has in store for us here."

Christian revealed his Battle felt like a team effort with Jason in that they were both "fighting to stay in the competition together."

But Jason was not eliminated from The Voice, as coach Adam Levine opted to steal him.

"We had been praying for it for a while and we declared it for a while and everything," he elaborated. "So, nothing changed from that day on and we knew that we were going to still be friends after this and we're roommates and everything. So, that's awesome."

In preparing for their Battle, Christian apparently learned a great deal from Alicia.

"The main thing that I've really learned and taken out of this experience with Alicia so far is being yourself. Like she has really instillled that in my mind, is like, she turned around for all 12 people that she has on her team and everything," Christian told reporters.

"And she turned around for each person individually. For what they are, for who they are, for what the sound like, for their voice."

Christian said a Battle on the show is basically like singing a duet, so it's difficult to find moments where you can shine.

"You want to blend well with others and stuff. But you also need to show off who you are as an artist and stuff. So, I mean that's one of the main things that she instilled in my mind, is be yourself," Christian explained.

Christian also got to work with Charlie Puth, Alicia's team adviser for this round.

"Working with Charlie, honestly, that dude's ridiculous. He has like perfect pitch. Like seriously he does. He's like, 'Sing that C sharp.' And I'm like I don't know what a C sharp is unless you play it," Christian said.

"And that's... a talent that not many people really have, and you're just really born with that and stuff. And, honestly, him being so close to our age -- my age specifically -- and stuff is inspiring. It's like, 'You're on the top of the charts, like, constantly. I hear you on the radio constantly.' I want to be that when I get like deeper into my music."
