Caitlyn Jenner has opened up about her views on same-sex marriage as a self-professed political conservative.

In a clip of Jenner's pre-taped interview for The Ellen DeGeneres Show that will air Tuesday, the 65-year-old former Olympian offered her views on a controversial topic, according to People.

"I have to admit that I remember 15 years ago, 20 years ago -- whenever it was that the whole gay marriage issue came up -- at first, I was not for it," Jenner told DeGeneres while making her first talk show appearance since transitioning into a female.

"I thought I am a traditionalist. I'm older than most people in the audience. I like tradition and it's always been between a man and a woman and I'm thinking I don't quite get it."

But Jenner changed her train of thought when explaining her standpoint to DeGeneres, who has been married to Portia de Rossi for seven years.

"But as time has gone on, I think like a lot of people on this issue, I've really changed thinking here to, 'I don't ever want to stand in front of anybody's happiness.' That's not my job. If that word 'marriage' is really that important to you, I can go with it, you know?" Jenner explained.

DeGeneres wasn't exactly satisfied with the answer. She challenged Jenner by suggesting she's still kind of "not onboard" with the idea.

"I'm onboard [with it]," Jenner clarified. "It's pretty much going to be the law of the land, so I still feel like, yeah, I'm okay with it."

The I Am Cait star also discussed her dating life since it's such a hot topic of conversation recently. Fans want to know whether Jenner plans to date men or women.

"This is -- and we deal with it on our show -- a tremendous issue in the trans community. It's a very big issue. So many today transition at a very young age and the whole dating thing comes in," Jenner said in the clip obtained by People.

"Everybody wants to have a partner. Everybody would love to have a family, and for trans people, that can sometimes be extraordinarily difficult to do. And so it is an issue that's big in the community."

Jenner, however, is at "such a different place in life" because she already has so many children. The reality TV star joked she actually has "too many" kids.

"I have 10 children. I've got my eighth grandchild in the oven with [Kimberly Kardashian]... I've kind of passed that stage in my life, but yes, would I like to find a partner in life to share my life with? Yeah," Jenner admitted.

"I'm sure I will at some point. Right now I'm just very busy doing a lot of things and kind of just getting used to where I'm at and who I'm at. As time goes on I'll deal with that subject."

DeGeneres then bluntly asked Jenner whether she could see a future with rumored dating interest Candis Cayne. Both Jenner and Cayne have expressed in recent weeks they are very close friends who understand each other.

"Actually, Candis is backstage, but that's a whole other deal," Jenner said with a laugh. "No! No, Candis is great. We really have a lot of fun and she's a beautiful woman."
