"Truly the luckiest girl in the world, cannot wait to marry this man!!!!" Bristol, a 24-year-old former reality TV star, captioned a Saturday Instagram photo of the couple kissing with three heart emoticons.

Meyer popped the question with a cushion-cut diamond engagement ring during a Rascal Flatts show at the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas on Friday, Us Weekly reported.

Rascal Flatts frontman Gary LeVox reportedly announced the pair's engagement to the audience, brought them up onstage, thanked Meyer for his service, and then dedicated a performance of "Bless the Broken Road" to them.

"I'm definitely the luckiest guy ever to be able to spend the rest of my life with @bsmp2," Meyer, a 26-year-old U.S. Marine veteran who received the Medal of Honor in 2009, captioned his own Instagram image of the pair. "#shesaidyes."

Bristol's mother Sarah Palin is apparently thrilled about her daughter's engagement.

"Our families couldn't be happier for Bristol and Dakota! We're honored to welcome Dakota into our family. He's an American hero and patriot whose service to our country -- like all his fellow Medal of Honor recipients -- has been above and beyond the call of duty; but even more important is he's a good and kind man who loves Bristol and Tripp, and is loved by them," the former Alaska governor and Vice Presidential candidate told Us in a statement.

Bristol has been engaged once before to Levi Johnston, the father of her six-year-old Tripp, but this will mark her first marriage.

"[Bristol and Dakota] met last year when he was in Alaska to film an episode of Amazing America, and even then it was noticed that just as we like to describe Bristol as 'an old soul' wise beyond her years, the same also applies to Dakota," Sarah continued.

"A clear demonstration is the fact that he flew up North last week to ask both Todd and Bristol’s grandfather, Chuck, Sr., for her hand in marriage!"

Bristol and Johnston broke up in 2010 after getting engaged twice. Johnston went on to welcome a daughter in September 2012 with his now-wife Sunny Oglesby, whom he wed in October of that year.

Bristol competed on the eleventh season of Dancing with the Stars back in 2010 and reached the finals with pro partner Mark Ballas, finishing in third place. In November 2010, she appeared on TLC's Sarah Palin's Alaska documentary.

Bristol then starred in Bristol Palin: Life's a Tripp on Lifetime in Summer 2012. She most recently competed on Dancing with the Stars' Fall 2012 All-Stars edition. She was sent home in the fourth week of the fifteenth-season competition.
