Brendan Fletcher seems to be one of The Voice coach Adam Levine's favorite team members.

Brendan, a 26-year-old from Randolph, NJ, defeated his "Team Adam" opponent Bindi Liebowitz, a 23-year-old from Summit, NJ, in The Voice's eleventh-season "Battle Round."

"We were just mostly concerned about putting on a good performance, and, you know, killing the vocal and just having a good time," Brendan told reporters during a recent conference call.

After the Battle, Adam gushed about how Bindi has a sweet spot in the middle of her range, similar to the quality Rihanna has in her voice. Adam explained Brendan, on the other hand, almost tore down the building with his vocals and there is something "thunderous" and "other worldly" about his talent.

There was no question Adam was going to advance Brendan -- whom he also called "astonishing" -- to the "Knockout Round," however, coach Blake Shelton opted to steal Bindi for his own team since she has so much potential and more to prove to everyone.

When asked whether he was aware only one steal remained heading into the Battle, Brendan revealed, "I really didn't know how many steals were left."

"I think once you start worrying about that stuff it can really affect your performance... Because once you start worrying about that, you might start to get nervous and you start worrying about the game," he added.

The artist said it can be difficult to push aside pressure and stress from the competition when performing.

"It's weird because you're taking something like singing and music and you're putting it into an arena where you're going to be judged," Brendan told reporters. "Your art is going to be quantified in a way. So it's weird."

However, Brendan said he manages to find a way to let his love for music shine on The Voice above all else.

"You have to kind of separate yourself from the game at times. And I think that's when the best performance comes out," he said.

The Voice's Season 11 "Knockout Round" begins Monday night at 8PM ET/PT on NBC.
