Bravo renewed The Real Housewives of Atlanta in January, however a December New York Daily News report claimed that Leakes and Zolciak were demanding more money to continue on the show and producers were apparently making plans to continue with the series without them.

"Bravo has been taking meetings with some notable and wealthy Atlanta women about possibly joining the show," a source told the Daily News at the time.

"They're trying their best to keep the process under wraps, but they're gearing up to make a major move in the third season."

Zolciak also recently denied rumors that she has been dating female deejay Tracy Young for the last three months. A source subsequently told E! News that some Bravo executives felt Zolciak was just "becoming gay" in an attempt to find a sensational storyline that would help her land a bigger third-season contract.

The Real Housewives of Atlanta's second season last summer averaged 3.26 million total viewers and 2.32 million viewers in the Adults 18-49 ratings demographic -- making it The Real Housewives franchise's highest-rated season ever.
