Bravo has announced open casting calls for its Top Design and Shear Genius reality competition series, both of which the network renewed last month for second seasons.

Although it was intended to be an interior-design clone of Bravo's popular Project Runway and Top Chef reality competition series, Top Design's first season -- which premiered last January -- ended up being panned by many viewers and critics.

But rather than give up on the show's concept, the network instead announced that Magical Elves -- the same production company behind Project Runway and Top Chef -- would replace first-season production company Stone & Company Entertainment and give the show an unspecified "makeover" for its second season.

Shear Genius, also a Project Runway and Top Chef-like reality competition series, premiered last April and pits hairstylists against one another to see who can create the most fashionable coiffure.

Shear Genius' second season will still be produced by Reveille, the Ben Silverman-founded production company that produced the show's first season (Silverman was subsequently hired as the programming chief of NBC, Bravo's sister broadcast network, last May).  Similar to Top Design, Bravo has not released any details -- beyond an announcement that host Jaclyn Smith will return -- about whether Shear Genius' new season will feature any significant changes.

Casting information for both Top Design and Shear Genius is available via Bravo's casting website.
