Big Brother featured Taylor Brown winning the Power of Veto, forcing the HoH, Haley Thogmartin, to name a replacement nominee during the Season 28 episode that aired Wednesday night on CBS.

Haley shared, "Melody needs to understand that I am not here for the cattiness or the snarky comments of the mean-girl energy. That, my friends, is a First Class ticket straight to the block!"
Haley said she was considering Taylor as her target because she doesn't have many alliances in the house and getting rid of her would result in "the least amount of blood" on her hands.
And Haley explained that Drew was "just a pawn," adding, "but I don't know if I can really trust him with what he's doing on both ends of the house."
Haley apparently thought putting Drew on the chopping block would "check" him, but Drew was upset because they were in an alliance together.
When Taylor asked Haley why she had been nominated, Haley explained how Taylor was "guilty by association" because she laughed too much at Jason De Puy banging the pot around the house.
Taylor realized that she definitely couldn't trust Haley, who had nominated her for "emotional reasons," and she said people in the house were underestimating her. Taylor and Lala were prepared to fight, and La Trice "Lala" Verrett teased, "It's going down tomorrow!"
For Melody's part, she assumed she was Haley's target, and she criticized Haley's claim that the HoH was playing an honest game.
"I will never respect Haley," Melody vented to the Big Brother cameras. "She is fake, she is phony, she is two-faced... the boo-hoo story, dude, I can't! I would love to shove that golden Power of Veto right in her face!"
Lyric Medeiros said she loved Melody and Mallory as friends but the numbers on their side of the house were "dwindling" and so she needed to pivot in the game and become a "free agent."
In order to do just that, Lyric tried to strengthen her bond with Kamuela "Kamu" Kirk, who seemed to trust that Lyric could truly be an ally for him going forward.

Later on, Drew told Rick Devens that if he got the chance, he'd go after Haley. Devens didn't like hearing that because such a move would blow up their "Red Corner" alliance, which would then blow up "The Toolshed" alliance.
"Drew basically said if he gets the chance, he's going to blow up my game. He went from a liability to a serious threat to my game," Devens explained to the Big Brother cameras.
Devens decided to talk to Haley, Dee Valladares and Angela Murray about how Drew was a problem, and Dee agreed that she needed "shady" Drew gone. They all agreed that Drew was going to be the next target.
"With the majority of The Toolshed agreeing that Drew is one of the most dangerous players right now, taking him out means that the other side loses their strongest ally," Haley explained in the Big Brother Diary Room.
"And for my game, I'll get to say that I took a huge swing and I got out a big target."
Angela said taking Drew out was what she was waiting for.

Meanwhile, Lyric was doing work to also align herself with Yash Patel, and the pair agreed to a Final 2 pact.
Lyric also tried to buddy up with Haley, saying she didn't want to continue being on the side of the house that was going to lose. Lyric insisted that she was willing to jump ship and be loyal to her, but Haley wasn't buying it.
Dee then let Barrett Pfeiffer know that Drew was Haley's target for the week to solidify trust with him. Barrett worried that if his alliance was willing to take out Drew, then he might be next.
Haley proceeded to tell Drew that he was just a pawn and she wanted Melody gone, but he wasn't entirely convinced and planned to fight hard for the Veto.
It then became time to pick players for the Power of Veto competition. In addition to the HoH, Haley, the three nominees -- Melody, Taylor and Drew -- Mallory Aurichio and Chuk Anyanwu were selected to compete.
Melody had picked Mallory to play, and Haley had asked Chuk to compete.
Chuk admitted to Drew that if he won the Veto, he planned to keep nominations the same.
For the Power of Veto competition, dubbed "Murder at the Masquerade," Big Brother 27 houseguest Morgan Pope entered the house, and everyone transported themselves to 1752.

The cast dressed up in ballgowns and formal attire, and Morgan explained how each player was going to have two lives.
Every round, each contestant was presented with two identical-looking glasses of wine, one of which was safe and one of which was poison.
After privately learning which glass contained poison, each player had to offer one of the two glasses to an opponent, trying to convince that person to drink it.

If a player drank the poison, he or she would lose one life. After sipping two poisoned drinks, that player would be eliminated.
The process would repeat until only one player remained, and that person would win the golden Power of Veto.
In the final round, Taylor and Chuk faced off against each other, and Taylor successfully convinced Chuk to drink the poison. Taylor therefore won the Power of Veto.
"This sucks. Taylor just won the Veto, the one person I was hoping wouldn't," Drew lamented to the Big Brother cameras.
"This is going to change plans for the whole Toolshed, and my odds of going home might've just increased a little bit more... 90 percent I think I'm okay, and 10 percent I think I'm getting played."
After the Power of Veto competition, Kamu suggested Haley should avoid nominating Lyric, but Haley said that wasn't going to happen. In fact, Haley seemed annoyed that Kamu was putting so much effort into keeping Lyric around.
Haley accused Lyric of having a crush on Kamu, and Angela pointed out how Haley appeared to be jealous of all the attention Kamu was giving to Lyric.
After Haley let Mallory know that she was "good," Mallory spoke to Lyric about how she'd like to target Chuk and Kamu if she won HoH next week.
Lyric ran to Haley and spilled this information to her since Haley was close to both Chuk and Kamu. Lyric hoped this would establish some trust between them so they could work together going forward.
"I never want to go against you in this game. I truly want to work with you," Lyric said.
Haley admitted she didn't know how to respond to this information.

"If you're so quick to throw your best friends away... how do you think it looks from an outside perspective? Mallory is going to find out eventually, and it looks bad that it's coming from you."

At the Veto Meeting, Taylor used the Power of Veto save herself, and then Haley named Lyric the replacement nominee.
Haley claimed her decision was "nothing personal" when she made the announcement, but she explained to the cameras how she didn't believe Lyric was trustworthy.
