Ben Higgins has reportedly been selected as The Bachelor's Season 20 star.

Kaitlyn Bristowe's second runner-up is going to be the franchise's next leading man, a source confirmed to Us Weekly.

Higgins, a 27-year-old software salesman from Denver, CO, reportedly turned down a promotion at work and pumped the brakes on a budding romance with Bachelor in Paradise star Tenley Molzahn to try to find love on TV again.

Higgins and 31-year-old Molzahn from The Bachelor's fourteenth season "want to hook up but haven't," the source said. "They're being careful not to jeopardize Ben H.'s Bachelor stint."

Although Higgins previously told Us in July he's "not extremely comfortable" with all the attention, he's apparently gotten used to it.

Both Bristowe from Season 11 of The Bachelorette and her fiance Shawn Booth have campaigned for Higgins, saying he's definitely ABC's best pick for the role.

"He's just an amazing guy, one of the nicest people I've ever met with the biggest heart," Booth told reporters during a late July conference call.

"He deserves nothing but the best. And we, you know, had a special bond on the show. We were rooming with each other every night and just supporting one another. I think he's as genuine as they come. I think he'd make the perfect Bachelor."

Booth gushing about Higgins prompted Bristowe to ask her fiance if he'd like to date Higgins.

And in early July, Bristowe told People Higgins would be an excellent choice since he's such a "well-rounded, solid guy."

"He knows what he wants." Bristowe explained. "Even though he's only 26, I feel like he's a very mature 26. He is such a gentleman, he's funny, he's... Do I still have feelings for Ben!?"

The Bachelor's twentieth season will air in January 2016 although the exact date has yet to be announced.
