Ben Higgins apparently feels the villain edit Olivia Caridi is going to receive this season on The Bachelor is an accurate portrayal.

Based on an extended preview for The Bachelor's twentieth season, Caridi was shown telling Higgins she felt victimized while her fellow bachelorettes complained to the cameras the blonde news anchor was fake around the Bachelor and insincere.

"First off, after watching my season of The Bachelorette, the reason I did The Bachelor with confidence is because the storylines play out how they happen. Anything that is seen actually happened during the experience," Higgins told reporters at the Television Critics Association Press Tour, according to Entertainment Weekly.

Caridi had received Higgins' coveted First Impression Rose, which probably put a target on her back immediately. He also revealed to E! News recently she was the "hottest" bachelorette in the group.

"Everyone is going to learn a lot about each of these women and when it comes to Olivia there's a lot to learn," continued Higgins, who competed on Kaitlyn Bristowe's edition of The Bachelorette and finished third. "But I don't want to stereotype her or put a label on her yet."

Higgins also explained why he decided to keep Lace Morris in the running when she aggressively confronted him a couple of times during the Night 1 of filming. Morris was either begging for a big kiss or punishing The Bachelor star for not making enough eye contact with her during the season's first Rose Ceremony.

"I get that it's hard [for the women]," Higgins reportedly said at TCA on Saturday. "So when anybody brings something up to me I appreciate that. She was incredibly honest and open with me [on] Night 1 and that's something that's attractive to me."

Higgins insisted every situation should be confronted with patience on this show.

"It's a long day, a long night, you're walking into a house with a bunch of women you just met and trying to wrap your brain around the whole situation and I get that it's hard. Right away I noticed she didn't want to hold in her feelings and thoughts, she wanted to express them, and that helps me out to know where everybody is at," he explained.

The Bachelor's next episode airs Monday, January 11 at 8PM ET/PT on ABC.
