Ben Flajnik's interest apparently couldn't be held by Britt Billmaier and Jennifer Love Hewitt.

Flajnik -- who was rejected at the end of The Bachelorette's August 2 finale when The Bachelorette star Ashley Hebert selected and presented her final rose to fellow suitor J.P. Rosenbaum instead -- will serve as the next star of The Bachelor, Us Weekly reported Wednesday.

ABC has yet to publicly announce the decision, however the network reportedly believes the 28-year-old winemaker from Sonoma, CA has the makings of a successful Bachelor because he was a fan favorite during his The Bachelorette edition.

"They think he'll be ratings gold," a source told Us. "His [August 6] date with Jennifer Love Hewitt was icing on the cake!"

Flajnik recently denied reports claiming he was dating Billmaier, a former fifteenth-season The Bachelor bachelorette from nearby San Francisco, or Hollywood actress Hewitt -- who, according to Life & Style, recently flew to Sonoma and had a date with the jilted bachelor -- and insisted he was single.

In addition, Flajnik had also expressed uncertainty about whether he would have the time and energy to take on another reality TV stint.

"The show actually opened me up to realizing that I was kind of reserved and emotionally unavailable and after going through it and talking about what I kept bottled up, I'm more ready now than I was with Ashley. If I were to do the next Bachelor... it's a lot to ponder," Flajnik told the San Francisco Chronicle earlier this month.

"We would shoot during harvest time. We've just hired on another friend at the winery. We'll see. Now, I commute three days a week from San Francisco to Sonoma. San Francisco is my favorite place on the planet. I love it with every ounce of my heart. My Twitter description is: winemaker-failed proposer-future mayor of SF."
