Becca Kufrin has been criticized for her strong reaction to Colton Underwood's revelation he's a virgin on The Bachelorette's latest episode, and now she's explaining herself.

"Colton always seemed put-together and buttoned-up, so I was really looking forward to seeing a more relaxed version of him," Becca wrote in her People blog.
"Heading into my evening with Colton, I was eager to continue the amazing time we were having sans seafood."
After a fun-filled day on the water, Becca and Colton talked over an intimate dinner, during which Colton confessed he is inexperienced in relationships and has never had sex before.
"When he opened up and told me that he was still a virgin, I was surprised," Becca revealed.
Becca was apparently so surprised that she excused herself from the dinner table, and cameras captured her taking some time to reflect and think about the situation. Her face appeared worried and concerned.

"I took a moment to myself to think. To me virginity is a meaningful thing, and I respect him for holding that so sacred," Becca explained of her reaction, which last season's The Bachelorette star Rachel Lindsay dubbed "dramatic" and uncalled for in her own Us Weekly blog.
"That being said, I am taking this process very seriously and I know Colton is as well. It was something I needed a moment to think about, with hometowns and eventually fantasy suite right around the corner."
Once Becca returned to the table, Colton -- who only had one serious girlfriend before appearing on the show -- explained he's proud of his virginity even though he used to be ashamed of it, especially when he was in the locker room with a bunch of male athletes.
Colton also revealed he's not necessarily waiting for marriage but rather the right girl to come along and steal his heart. Colton now considers his virginity "a gift" to give to someone special.

"I would never judge someone for being a virgin. In this journey, though, I have multiple relationships, and so I wanted to be certain that Colton and I had a future before continuing a physical and emotional relationship," Becca reasoned.
"I know how much weight that holds. I was confident that what Colton and I had was real, and so I was ready to take our relationship to the next level at our own speed."
At the end of the date, Becca gave Colton a rose, letting him know that she couldn't wait to visit his hometown and meet his family.
"I was glad that Colton was able to be so vulnerable with me," Becca insisted in her People blog. "And giving out that first rose for hometowns made me feel so hopeful with what the next week meeting families would bring."
