Grant, a 31-year-old day trader from New Jersey who currently resides in Houston, TX, handed out his first set of roses on The Bachelor's 29 premiere after having his heart broken by Jenn Tran on The Bachelorette's 21st season.
When Grant addressed all 25 of his bachelorettes for the first time, he announced how he really wanted to get engaged, married and start a family.
"What does love mean to you?" Grant asked the women ahead of the first cocktail party of the season.
"To me, love is the little things -- a flower when you walk in the door, a kiss, a hug, a conversation after a long day of work."
He added, "And something I really appreciate is a woman's strength -- her intuition to know what she wants. I learned that from my mother... who signed me up for the show."
Grant sparked many connections on Night 1, and he said he was blown away by his bachelorettes' beauty, poise and confidence.
Grant seemed especially smitten with Juliana Pasquarosa, Litia Garr, Allyshia Gupta, and Alexe Godin on Night 1.
Grant gushed of Alexe in a confessional, "She is funny, really smart, and she works with kids. Alexe is going to make a great mother, and that's what I'm excited about -- building my own family."
Grant therefore ended up giving Alexe his First Impression Rose to Alexe, which meant that Alexe would also receive the first one-on-one date of Grant's The Bachelor season.
"She is so funny, she's so quirky, she's so sweet and she's smart," Grant said of the bubbly and talkative Alexe.
"For just meeting each other, we had the most connection or spark. Everything she is embodies what I look for in a woman, and I can't wait to get to know her more."
Grant's bachelorettes pulled out all the stops for him, but he ultimately eliminated seven women at the first Rose Ceremony of the season.
