The episode began with Carly Waddell saying it was just another day in Paradise for everyone except Ashley Iaconetti and Joe, who both got dumped when the were pretty much in love. Ashley I and Joe bonded over their terrible experiences together, but no one wanted to listen to Ashley I cry about how perfect Jared Haibon was.

Meanwhile, Mikey Tenerelli took Juelia Kinney on a date to Guadalajara. She trusted and adored Mikey. She called him "a man" and Joe a boy. The couple went to a wrestling match and had a lot of fun. Mikey said he couldn't have asked for a better date with a better girl. He found her to be an easy person to talk to and admired her positive attitude considering she's been through an awful lot in her life.

Mikey and Juelia then had to determine whether they'd like to stay in a hotel together or separately. Juelia was shocked about the offer since it was their first date, but she said yes -- as long as Mikey promised to act like a gentleman. Juelia was excited to be away from the drama of the house and spend some alone time with him.

Back in Paradise, Joe was thinking about outing Samantha because she wasn't taking any responsibility for the dramatic Juelia situation. He wanted to clear his name and set the record straight that Samantha asked him before the show via text to do whatever it takes to get a rose so they could meet.

Tanner Tolbert thought Samantha was "full of sh-t," a "puppetmaster" who was pulling all the strings. Joe said things could end in one of two ways -- they either get engaged and fall in love, or she crashes and burns. Joe told Samantha she should've gone on a date with Nick Peterson if she wanted to so badly, but Samantha said she was just confused and only wanted to get to know him when she came to Mexico.

Samantha was giving Joe mixed signals. She didn't exactly dump him because she said her feelings for him hadn't necessarily disappeared, but she said she just wanted to take a step back. Joe wasn't sure whether Samantha was playing him for his rose or had a different intention. Tanner pointed out that Samantha was more deeply rooted in lies than anyone ever realized.

Ashley I told Joe to start fresh with Samantha. He tried to re-introduce himself to Samantha and spark a funny conversation, but she just ignored him. He was shocked she wouldn't even have a conversation with him.

Kirk DeWindt and Carly's relationship was blossoming. He planned a little at-home date for them by taking her fishing. He wanted to give a relationship with Carly an honest shot, and she couldn't wait to have dates like that back in the real world. Carly was falling in love with Kirk and couldn't believe she found her husband on Day 1.

Juelia was also feeling a strong connection with Mikey and it made her excited for their future.

Justin from Kaitlyn Bristowe's season of The Bachelorette then arrived in Paradise. Joe said he was good friends with Justin, and although Justin seemed interested in Samantha, he probably wouldn't act on it. Justin thought Samantha was stunning and apparently got lost in her eyes, so he asked her out despite Joe's feelings.

Everyone expected Joe to flip out and lose his mind as a result. Dan Cox wanted to get to know Samantha, but he also wanted to watch Joe explode.

Samantha accepted Justin's date invitation, and Kirk called her out for being the "ultimate villain," more so than Joe. Samantha kept insisting she wanted to stay out of the drama, but Carly said she was starting all of it and clearly enjoyed it. Joe felt stupid for going after a woman so beautiful, someone he believed was out of his league.

Joe told the cameras he regretted coming to Paradise and felt like a fool.
